"Oh, Noah!" I sighed when I found the little boy in Emily's room. He had fingerpaint on his chubby little hands and all over the little suit he was wearing.
"Oh, wow..." Elliot trailed off as he joined me in the doorway of Emily's room. The little boy looked at me and smiled as I lifted him into my arms. His suit was ruined and there was no way I could clean it up before we had to leave.
"His outfit is ruined, and we have to leave soon," I groaned, as my husband laughed at the situation. I looked at Noah who still had a large smile on his lips. I could tell he was proud of the little art project he did before his adoption.
"Just get him into something else and we can head out. It won't be as nice, but-" Elliot started, but I stopped him.
"I won't be doing anything. You can get him changed," I replied, before passing the small boy to Elliot.
I left the room and calmed myself before finding my daughter. I walked over and sat beside her, my hand gently smoothing her hair.
"Would you like me to braid your hair as we wait?" I asked, and my daughter nodded quickly. She quickly sat on the floor behind me, and I started to braid her brown hair.
"Is Noah going to be my brother?" Emily asked as laughter came from Noah's bedroom.
"Yes, he is going to be your brother," I replied softly. No matter how much I love my son, it felt weird to be adopting him. Faith should have been here, but she had been gone for five years and we'd never get her back.
"Can I get another baby brother or sister?" Emily asked, which shocked me. We hadn't talked about other babies. Only the little monster who painted his suit.
"Love, Daddy and I haven't discussed that," I replied, my cheeks hot and red.
"I think in a year or so, Mommy and I will give you another sibling. Hopefully, another boy, since you two are trouble," Elliot smiled, as he walked from Noah's room. I shot him a look, but he ignored it.
"Let's put in a pin in this for now. We need to get to the courthouse before we are late for Noah's adoption," I replied with a sigh.
---
"I am happy to tell everyone gathered here that this little boy is officially Noah Porter-Stabler," the judge overseeing the adoption spoke. I turned to Elliot as tears poured down my cheeks and hugged him and Noah tightly.
"Welcome to the family, baby," I smiled, before turning and tugging Emily into a tight hug.
"Congrats, guys," Fin spoke, as he came up and clapped Elliot on the shoulder.
"Thanks, Fin. We couldn't be happier," Elliot smiled, as he looked at Noah before kissing his messy brown hair.
After the adoption, we took the kids to get ice cream. Noah had discovered not that long ago that ice cream was his favorite food. Elliot and I sat together on one side of the booth, and he leaned close to my ear.
"I think we should go home and celebrate," Elliot breathed, his breath hot on my skin.
"We have two kids to watch now," I replied quietly.
"Oh, such a good mother. Always having to take care of our kids and be responsible," Elliot mocked, as I shook my head and smiled. Emily and Noah started to giggle, and before I knew it, laughter was filling our booth.
---
Knowing that Noah was forever our son was beyond amazing. We loved calling him by his full name since it was still so hard to believe we were this lucky. About a month after we adopted Noah, Elliot took a vacation day to spend some quality time with our son. I had to keep working because we had a big case that we needed to solve.
"Benson and Tutuola! We have a lead," Cragen spoke, as he came from his office.
"Like we have a suspect?" Fin asked as he looked up from the file he was examining.
"We do. Ike Ross of Queens. Be careful," Cragen replied, as Fin and I stood to gather our items.
I sat in the passenger seat as Fin drove to Queens. We were both on edge because Ike Ross was the only suspect we had for the rape and murders that had been filling the headlines all over the state.
"Sounds good. I'll be home soon," I spoke, as I ended a call to Elliot. I sat my phone down on my lap before looking over at Fin. He had an amused look on his face, and I stared at him until he spoke.
"What?" He asked.
"Why do you look like that?" I questioned.
"I'm still having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact you and Stabler are married and have kids together," Fin replied. I blushed and nodded slowly since sometimes I couldn't believe it myself.
"It's baffling what fate can do," I admitted quietly, as Fin parked down the road from Ike Ross's house. We got out and grabbed our guns before slowly approaching the target's house.
"Ike Ross!" Fin called as he knocked on the door.
"Ike Ross, it's the NYPD. Open up!" I yelled as I knocked on the door. Fin walked away to see if he could find a back door, but I wish he had stayed. Ike barrelled out of the front door and grabbed me. He quickly slapped a piece of tape on my mouth and dragged me to a waiting van. I tried to scream and fight back, but I couldn't. Before he shut the door, he slammed me in the back of the head with something, and everything went black.
---
I don't know exactly how long I had been out, but when I came to, I wasn't in the van anymore. I was tied up to a bed, my clothing ripped and my body sore. I didn't know what to do, but I did know something. All the progress I had made to be better was gone.
"Welcome back, beautiful," Ike breathed, as he leaned close to my face. My body shook from the sound of his voice, and I felt hot tears slip down my cheeks.
I couldn't speak through the duct tape, so I just moaned and tried to shake from the restraints.
"Oh, maybe this will help," He spoke, before placing my service weapon to my head. I went silent and stared into his demon like eyes.
He reached out and touched my exposed breasts, his thumb brushing over a faded scar.
"I think it's time for some more fun," He grinned. Ike touched me for awhile before assaulting me. Every place he touched me felt like it was on fire.
All I wanted was for my husband to run in and save me, but Ike finished and I still didn't have my hero in front of me.
