Hello new readers and those who want to re-read this book. I have decided to edit this book, which means that I'm going through each paragraph and either fixing or rewriting the paragraph to make more sense. The story will be the same, but some of the wording will be changed. I apologize for any confusion, I just want to edit all of my books to make sure they are as close to perfect as possible. Thank you!

"I'm sorry!" I screamed as Will raised his fist again.

"You're a fucking whore! I told you that I didn't want kids, but then you go and get pregnant!" He spat, his foot making hitting my swell hard.

"Will! She's your daughter! Please, don't hurt her!" I cried, but he just kept beating me.

"This baby won't even take her first breath! She is just as worthless as you! Your mother should have aborted you!" He screamed.

I pulled forward at the sound of a car horn from behind me, the train of horrible memories slowly leaving my brain. Glancing back, I saw my daughter sleeping peacefully in her car seat. She looked like an angel, and the love for her is what kept me going.

I continued to drive for a while, only stopping when a bridge into the city came into view. I settled back against the seat, a hand resting on my belly as I tried to decide if I wanted to turn around. If I turned around, Will would find us and kill not only me but our children as well. If I kept moving forward, I'd have to face what made me leave in the first place.

I sat forward slowly and turned to look at my daughter, her foot twitching as she slept. I wanted her to feel safe and live a life without being abused. The only way I could do that is if I went back to those who were my chosen family.

I parked outside of the precinct, my head hung to avoid prying eyes from seeing the bruises. I moved to the back door and slowly opened it before reaching out and caressing my daughter's cheek. Her eyes fluttered open, a sleepy smile growing on her lips when she saw me.

"Hey, Emily. How did you sleep, princess?" I asked my little girl even if I knew she wouldn't respond. I leaned down and pressed a soft kiss to her light brown curls before lifting her slowly from her seat.

The elevator ride to the tenth floor was incredibly long. Every time another floor lit up and I grew closer to my old squad, my anxiety got so much worse. No matter how scared I was to return, I needed their help.

"Ma'am, may I help you?" An officer asked as I stumbled towards the squad room.

"Yes, um, is Detective Stabler or Captain Cragen here yet?" I asked, and he nodded.

"They both are. Head through the doors marked Special Victims Unit," He replied. I took a shaky breath before nodding and continuing forward. As the noise of the busy room reached our ears, Emily grew scared and clung to me.

Standing just inside the doors, I scanned the faces until I found Elliot and Fin sitting at their desks. Elliot was busy on the phone and Fin was scrolling slowly through something on his computer.

"Excuse me?" I choked out. Elliot held his hand up to silence me until he finished his call. Once the phone was back in the cradle, Elliot sighed deeply.

"Okay, what can I help you with?" He questioned before he even turned to look at me.

"I was hoping my partner would remember my voice," I breathed. Elliot turned slowly to look at me, his eyes quickly scanning my face.

"Liv?" Elliot asked, his voice shaking almost as much as his body was. He reached out and caressed my cheek, his finger brushing over a tender bruise.

"Hey, El," I sniffled as tears welled in my eyes.
