"Objection!" Casey exclaimed, her face masked with disgust.
"Tread lightly," Judge Petrovsky spoke, as my heart started to beat out of my chest.
"I apologize, your honor. Detective Benson, when was the last time you had intercourse?" The defense asked. I felt sick to my stomach when that question was asked, yet I refused to embarrass myself again.
"About a month and a half ago," I replied softly.
"With whom?"
"Ike Ross," I breathed.
"Did you like it?" He questioned. I turned to look at Casey, but she didn't move to object.
"Of course I didn't."
"But did you say no?" He questioned.
"Of course I did!" I cried.
"But did you say no?!" He yelled, his face growing red. Casey stood quickly, her hands shaking as she placed them against her table.
"Objection! His line of questioning is harassing Detective Benson!"
"I agree with Ms. Novak. This is your last warning," Judge Petrovsky spoke slowly.
"Detective Benson, why didn't you try to escape when you were in the bathroom?"
"There wasn't a window and I was weak. No matter how hard I tried, I wouldn't be able to get away without him noticing and going after me," I breathed.
"Or did you want to stay with Mr. Ross?" He questioned, as Casey stood once more.
Before Casey could even object, the defense smiled as he unbuttoned his suit jacket.
"I'm done," He spoke, as tears slipped down my cheeks. I slowly brushed them away as Judge Petrovsky looked at me.
"Detective, you may get down now," She spoke, and I nodded slowly. The moment I left the stand, I felt like nothing good would come from this trial. No matter how horribly injured I am, that Ike would get off.

Once court was dismissed for the day, I was exhausted. Elliot drove us home in silence, because even if I did have the energy to speak, I didn't want to.
"Do you want me to see if Mo or Lucy could watch the kids?" Elliot asked, as he put our vehicle in park.
"No, I want to spend the night with our kids," I replied softly.
"That sounds good, baby. Movies and pizza?" Elliot asked, and I nodded slowly as I kept my eyes focused on my lap.
"Elliot, we still have weeks before we can find out who fathered this baby... I don't know what we should do," I whispered.
"Do you want to find out if I'm the father?" Elliot questioned.
"I honestly don't know, El. What if it ends up being his baby?"
"I have wanted a baby with you since we got married, Liv. This could be our chance, and as long as this baby is half you, then I'll love them forever," Elliot spoke, as he looked over and gave me a soft smile.
"I love you, El."
"I love you too, Liv," Elliot smiled, before leaning in and pressing a soft kiss to my forehead.

Fin was the only one in court with me the next day, so he had the hard job of trying to keep me calm. We listened closely to what was being said, and Fin always helped me relax the moment I started to panic.
"I'd like to call Detective Benson again," Casey spoke, as she turned to look at me. I eyed her for a moment before standing and walking back to the stand.
"Detective, how were you treated while being held captive by Mr. Ross?" Casey questioned.
"I was treated horribly," I replied.
"How so?"
"He drugged me and forced alcohol down my throat. What little I was fed ended up being vomited up since he'd rape me afterwards. I was raped for most of the day and if he wasn't raping me, I'd be beaten or burned. Sometimes both," I explained, as I got flashes of my stay with Ike Ross.
"Do you remember how you felt after he drugged you?" Casey asked. I closed my eyes for a long moment as I tried to clear up what memories I had.
"I was out of it, like I was floating above my body. I could watch as he attacked my body, but it was like I wasn't in my body. Most of the time everything seemed so foggy," I answered.
"How did he attack you?" Casey questioned, as I felt the sting of red-hot hangers and lit cigarettes.
"He would choke and burn me... He made switches from trees behind the house and he'd whip me with those and his belt," I whimpered, as Casey frowned deeply and turned on the TV.
"People's evidence sixty-two," Casey breathed, as she started to flip through pictures of my bruised body. I watched as my injuries got matched up to the weapons that caused them.
---
Sitting on the front steps of the court house, I waited for the lunch recess to end. Casey sank down beside me and offered me a brown paper bag.
"I'm not hungry," I spoke, as fanned the bag away.
"You are so skinny, Liv. C'mon, eat something with grease."
"Are you going to annoy me until I agree?"
"Of course I am," Casey grinned.
I took a burger from the bag and slowly opened the paper before taking a bite. It felt weird to eat in the middle of the day, since I always felt so ill during court.
"We are starting closing arguments when we return," Casey spoke, and I let out a slow breath.
"That's good, because I want this to end."
"Even if court is going to be done, Liv... This is only the start of your recovery. Not only does your body need to heal, but you are growing a baby that is going to change things forever," Casey breathed.
"I know, but it should be easier once the trial is over. I can start focusing on my family again."
