"Ma'am, your husband has lost a lot of blood. He is in the ICU, but it's touch and go for now." The doctor spoke slowly, and tears ran down my cheeks. Fin touched my back, but I quickly moved away.

"Can I see him?" I questioned, and the doctor shook his head.

"I'm sorry, you can't until he is more stable." The doctor replied and I swallowed hard before nodded.

"Go home and get some sleep. We will call you when he wakes up."

I walked back to the seat that I hadn't moved from since we arrived here. I sat down and wrapped my arms around my body as I stared at the wall.

"Liv, come on. I'll drive you home." Fin offered, but I shook my head.

"He sat by me after I was found. He saved me when Will beat me. He stood by my side when Faith passed away. I'm not leaving him."

---

I woke up to someone shaking me awake. I looked up and saw a nurse with a gentle smile on her face.

"Mrs. Stabler?" She asked and I nodded quickly.

"Y-yes." I replied.

"Your husband is asking for you." She smiled. I got up quickly and she led me to his room.

Elliot laid in bed, and he was so pale he matched the sheets. He had tons of tubes and things hooked up to him, and he was on oxygen.

I walked over and sat down next to him, and I had my hand hovered over his hand.

"You can touch him." The nurse whispered, and I nodded slowly before gently rubbing his hand. His eyes opened slowly, and they were unfocused for a minute before he looked at me and a weak smile spread across his face.

"Liv." He chocked and I smiled tearfully.

"Hey baby. How are you feeling?" I asked quietly.

"Like I was ran over by a truck." He spoke, and I chuckled softly.

"You look like it." I teased. He lifted my hand slowly, and kissed it gently, making more tears stream down my cheeks.

"I should've went down stairs and cleared it, not you." I breathed and he frowned.

"It's fine. Liv, you were making sure the kids were okay. You did knock down two guys." He spoke but I shook my head.

"But I couldn't save you." I whimpered.

"Stop it, alright? Stop hating yourself." Elliot scolded weakly, and I ran my hand through my hair and sighed.

"Are you hurting?" I asked, wanting to change the subject.

"Yeah, but I was shot like four times, it's normal." He replied and I rolled my eyes.

"Well, I love you El. I should go and check on the kids." I breathed and he nodded.

"I love you too, Liv. Tell the kids I love them." Elliot replied and I nodded.

---

Since our house was being used for evidence, Casey was letting us crash at her place, and was watching the kids while I was at the hospital.

"Hey Liv." Casey said as she opened the door.

"Hey. How were the kids?" I asked.

"They are still sleeping. How is Elliot?" She replied.

"Weak. He lost a lot of blood, but he should recover." I replied and she nodded.

"Good. Um, so I have to go to work. I got some of your clothes and the kid's clothes from the house, so go change." She replied and I nodded.

"Thanks for everything, Case. It means a lot." I breathed, and she nodded.

"I'd hug you, but your covered in blood." She teased and I nodded, but I didn't find it funny.

I took a shower and then I called Elliot's kids, making sure that they all knew what had happened. Then I called Rita to discuss what was going to happen.

"Olivia?" Rita asked.

"I bet you found out by now that Elliot is in the hospital." I spoke.

"I did, because officers were trying to arrest him since his ankle bracelet went off when he left the house." Rita replied.

"So is he going to be arrested again since he left the house?" I asked, concern in my voice.

"No. He isn't. He was taken to the hospital for life saving treatment." Rita replied and I let out a sigh of relief.

"Have you heard anything about the other guys? The ones that almost killed Elliot?" I questioned.

"They are under arrest, but I haven't had enough time to get more information. I've been too busy getting the judge to not arrest Elliot." She said, laughing dryly. I rolled my eyes and sighed.

"Alright, I'll just get a hold of Cragen and see what he can do." I replied coldly.

"Olivia, I know that this is hard. Your husband was almost killed, and your house was broken into, but you need to let everyone do their jobs. Just take care of your kids. Spend time with Elliot." She replied, and I hung my head, as tears ran down my cheeks.

"When have you known me to not get involved?" I laughed tearfully.

"Never, but just relax. I'll call you later." Rita spoke before hanging up.

I cried for a little bit before a small voice pulled me out of it.

"Momma?" Emily questioned, and I turned around and smiled softly.

"Hey baby, did you sleep well?" I asked.

"No. Where is Daddy?" She asked and I swallowed hard.

"He's in the hospital." I spoke quietly.

"When is he coming home?" She questioned.

"In a few days. He needs to get stronger."

"But Daddy is strong. He is the strongest Daddy." She spoke and my heart broke.

"I know baby, but Daddy is hurt. He is still strong, but he needs to get stronger."

"Why is Daddy always getting hurt?" She spat, surprising me.

"What do you mean?" I asked quickly.

"Grandma dying, you getting taken. Faith dying. What next?" She questioned.

"Who told you about Faith?" I breathed.

"Aunt Casey did." She breathed.

"Sweetie, getting hurt is part of life. Unfortunately, we have gotten a whole lot of hurt." I sighed.

"No! Daddy keeps getting hurt! If you wouldn't have gotten yourself taken, Daddy wouldn't have beaten that man, and he wouldn't have been shot!" She screamed, and I was taken aback by my 7 year old. How did she put this all together?

"Emily..." I trailed off.

"Don't talk to me!" She screamed before running into Casey's room and slamming the door.

What the hell is happening?
