Dealing with Damien

Astrid's POV

My angered expression was replaced by a smirk. "I see, you have the ability to change your form into someone else. Interesting."

"You are more interesting, Astrid. You're a vampire yet you still have me pinned against the wall. Aren't you afraid of me or you haven't realized I'm a pureblood yet, like the same way you had mistaken my brother as a vampire." Damien taunted,raising a brow as I pinned him harder.

And just like that, my anger surfaced again. He's obviously insulting me and I'm not the person who takes insults lightly.

"Oh yes. I was pretty stupid that day just like you today who can't even get his job well done. If you'll try to fool me then at least do it right." I insulted back. Two can play this game.

"How lovely. I think I'm starting to like you." He smiled sweetly not even affected with my insult.

"Good for you, Somerhalder." I smiled back realsing him and made my way to the garden.

"Do you think my ill-tempered brother will kill me if he learned I like you?" He asked, casually placing his arm over my shoulder like we've known each other for ages.

I shrugged, "Well, good luck with your life. I'm sure you'll manage to survive. But if ever that happens, how do you think Alex will kill you?"

"He'd probably burn me alive." He answered without any trace of fear.

I made an excited expression as I exclaimed. "I'd love to watch that."

"You're savage! I really do like you now." He said pinching my cheek but I kept a blank expression as Damien exclaimed with excitement. "Can you be my friend?"

"I don't make friends. Well not at least with any blood suckers." I spat slapping his hand off my face.

He pouted like a kid and smiled afterwards. "It's okay. It can be a one sided friendship anyway."

Now that I've finally met Damien, hindi ko maiwasan ang magulat at magtaka dahil kabaliktaran siya ni Alex. Alex is ill-tempered and always held a serious expression to the point that a smiling Alexander is very unusual. While on the other hand, ito namang si Damien ay hindi maalis ang ngiti sa mga labi. He was so carefree. But I won't let his smile fool me. I've learned that all Somerhalder are cruel. I just have to find out how cruel this Damien can be.

Damien stood beside me as I watch the fishes in the garden's small pond. Every pureblood is cruel but I don't get myself to feel afraid of Damien. Maybe because within myself I know Alex will protect me from any harm and I've grown dependent on him. Though I hate to admit that, I can't fool myself. I know it's the reality.

"You're still beautiful as ever." Damien whispered, his eyes were fixed on me.

Sanay na akong sinasabihan ng maganda at pinagtitinginan ng mga tao ngunit hindi ko mapigilang magulat sa narinig.

My attention was suddenly on him. "Still beautiful? I don't think you've seen me before."

"I'm sure we've met at least once long time ago. I just think you don't remember." He grinned and behind that grin, I know he's hiding something from me.

I have an excellent memory. I still remember the day when everybody died like a f*cking hd film in front of me and the faces of every vampire I had killed so there is no way I had forgotten him. Kung totoo ngang nagkita na kami, ay hinding hindi ko siya makakalimutan. A pureblood like Damien is someone I will never forget.
