Astrid's POV
"Saan ka pupunta?" Alex asked. His prying eyes made me uncomfortable. It feels like deja vu. He also asked me the same thing the other day.
"I'm going hunting." Casual na sagot ko. Not the typical hunting humans do but I'm talking about hunting for preys and feeding on them. But of course it was a lie. Magkikita lang naman kami ni Adrian ngayong gabi at hindi iyon pwedeng malaman ni Alex.
"Why don't you come with me tonight?" Suhesyon nito na hinalikan ang leeg ko mula sa likod habang ang mga kamay nito ay lumalakbay sa bewang ko. "I have a business meeting in this elite club. I'm sure you'll enjoy hunting there."
"No. I'll go hunting tonight." I moaned exposing my neck so that he can have better access.
"No? Dati rati ikaw pa ang pumipilit sakin na isama kita sa mga business meetings ko. What changed?" He asked through the mirror and I avoided eye contact.
"I've been always an independent woman." Katwiran ko.
"Sigurado ka talagang hindi ka sasama?" Tanong ulit nito. I noticed he was up to something but I just ignored it.
"I'm sure. Good luck with your business meeting." I smiled turning to face him and gave him a quick kiss before leaving.
Tonight I'm planning to break things off with Adrian. I realized I was being greedy and selfish. Nang dahil lang sa pagkakahawig nila ni Liam ay nahihila ko siya sa panganib. Magkamukha lang sila ni Liam, iyon lang ang pagkakapareho nila. And I think I should stop using him to make myself happy.
Sure, I miss Liam, my first love but Adrian will never be him. So I should stop this madness before it's too late. If Alex finds out about him, the worst thing that might happen is Adrian's death. At hindi ko mapapatawad ang sarili kapag nangyari iyon. Adrian's innocent to all of this, he doesn't deserve to die. But knowing Alex, he will be unstoppable in his fury.
Arriving at Adrian's house, I was quite surprise at the size of it. I rang the doorbell twice before he opened it with a wide smile.
"I miss you." Adrian wrapped his arm around my waist and kissed me. Nagulat ako sa ginawa niya dahil ni minsan ay hindi pa niya ako hinahalikan. It was actually the first time that he displayed affection towards me.
Napansin nito ang gulat na ekspresiyon ko at agad na nagpa-umanhin.
"I uhm.. I was just... Sorry if I offended you or something. I didn't mean it." He apologized struggling to find the right words. I find this really amusing.
"Kissing me is okay but telling me you didn't mean it? That is quite offending. It hurts my feelings a little bit." I joked and we both laugh as he guide me inside his house.
"You might be disappointed but this is a home for me."
"Are you being serious?!" Hindi makapaniwalang sambit ko. "I am not disappointed at all. This is actually amazing! I love it so much."
"Thank you." He grinned.
I took my time looking around his house as he watch me with amusement. Ang bahay nito ay parang isang science museum. There were preserved bodies of animals inside jars and a complete human bone in one corner. And one side of the wall is designed with human anatomy. He sure is a doctor.
"Are you hiding dinosaur bones somewhere?" Pagbibiro ko.
"What a shame I don't have them. But I'll make sure to find one for you the next time you come back." He joked.
Biglang nawala ang ngiti ko sa sinabi niya. He still have no idea that I'm never meeting him again.
"Is there something wrong?" Tanong nito nang mapansing nawala ang mood ko.
