A-N- ONE YEAR EARLIER!
Drew and Nikola are seventeen! The last entry, was sort of a foreshadow. The picture on the right is the family. Top left is Gabriel playing golf, top left is Johanna (No, her eyes are not always red), below Gabriel is seventeen year old Nikola, below Johanna is seventeen year old Drew.
This is everything I ever wanted. Our life has been perfect. Johanna still owns her store and I quite working at the Seven Deadly Sins fifteen years ago. I now work as an accountant in town. My weekdays are spent working and on Sundays I play golf with acquaintances at the Country Club. Johanna and I were quickly accepted there because of all our money and charm; but only I made a constant appearance there. Johanna simply didn’t understand or like the things which she had to do there. While I went out to play golf with the other husbands, Johanna was offered to take place in a knitting circle…I believe she took part in this for three days. The idle gossip and boring needle work almost drove her to insanity, she said. This still would have been boring to her as a human, so it wasn’t just her inability to get along with humans.
So she only came to the club for nice dinners, charity functions or tennis matches, while I was there at least once a week. I fit in fine; it wasn’t nearly as hard as I once thought it would be.
Drew and Nikola are now seventeen years old and going into their Senior year in highschool. Drew is the quarterback of the school football team, they are undefeated thanks to him, he is an Attack on the school lacrosse team, he scores a majority of their points. For the town, Drew is the goalie of the soccer team and 1st place swimmer at the country club. Of course he plays other sports as well, but those are for fun with his friends. He is ridiculously smart in school, always getting A- the lowest. He grew up fast, standing at 6’ 2.5”. He has shaggy blonde hair that always hangs over his eyes, kind of like mine, except his hair is shorter. While Drew I not any bit vampire, you can see that he feels like he has the strength of vampires as well as the speed of one. Because of this feeling, you can always find him running on the beach or working out.
Nikola has grown into a beautiful young lady, she stands to her mother’s height of 5’ 5” and has beautiful black hair. Her once long bouncy curls became straightened and cut short as she moved into highschool. My Nikola is head of the cheer leaders and president of the celibacy club. She also plays as a forward in soccer for the school and sails in competitions with her brother at the Country Club. Nikola used to do ballet but she doesn’t dance as much since she became captain of the cheerleaders. Nikola, also not any bit vampire (other than this) doesn’t feel like anything other than human. Except for her balance and gracefulness which was the main reason for her taking ballet. I heard all of the girls whisper about how jealous of her looks and grace they are, that is what she got from being a vampire while her brother feels like he has the strength of one.
Nikola used to do ballet but she doesn’t dance as much since she became captain if the cheerleaders.
Nikola and Drew are the most well behaved children ever, we couldn’t have asked for better children. They both study so hard for school and work hard in all that they do.
Johanna and I? While we exist as a “human couple”, we still have our vampire needs. This means that once a month, we go away on “business”. For four days we leave Nikola and Drew at home while Johanna and I go two states or more away and feed non-stop. ‘What kind of parents are you?!’, you ask. Well, if you had children like ours, you would trust them just as much as we do. We know that our kids are nothing like the other children that you hear about in the movies or on reality TV. I’m pretty sure that Drew and Nikola haven’t even been exposed to curse words or parties where bad things go on. It doesn’t matter anyway, they would never show an interest in that kind of stuff! That’s why we trust them alone for four days, besides, all they do is go to school, study, play sports and have friends over.
This couldn’t get any more perfect. Nothing will ever change that.
