“Justin, calm down. She’s going to be ok.” Demi said wiping away her tears.

“Calm down?! How the hell do you expect me to calm down when her life is on the line?! I mean did you even see her?! She looked horrible! Am I the only one who actually cares about her around here?!” I said outraged.

“Justin! Don’t say that! Of course we care about her! It’s just that we can’t do anything about it! We can only depend on the doctors. She’s in good hands now… I promise.” Demi said with big watery eyes.

I hesitated watching the doctors put y/n’s body into the ambulance. I closed my eyes and sighed. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean anything that I said. I’m just—“ I got emotional again. My tears never stopped since the phone call.

“I understand. All we can do is remain calm and pray.” Demi said.

The ambulance sirens grew alive the ambulance drove away to the hospital.

I took a deep breath. Then I realized something and my eyes widened. “Where is he?” I said looking around. “Where is he?!” I yelled.

                “Justin, who?!” Demi asked.

“That jackass of a boyfriend! What was his name again? Oh yeah,Trey! Where is he?”

“We can’t find him. He must’ve escaped.”

“So the fuckin’ guy just ran away and left y/n here to die?!”

“Justin calm down! Please!” Demi said pulling on my arm. Her eyes were pouring tears. I relaxed and hugged her.

“I’m sorry. Things are just rushing in too fast.” I said crying with her. I looked at Max and pulled him in too. He cried with us.

An officer came up to us to calm us down.

“She’s gonna be alright. We can only hope.” he said patting our backs. We cleaned ourselves up and nodded. “Sergeant John Lewis, LAPD.” he said shaking our hands.

“Nice to meet you,” Demi said sniffing. We introduced ourselves.

“Where are they taking her? Which hospital?” I asked trying to keep as calm as I could.

“Ryder’s Emergency Hospital,” an officer said.

An investigator came up to us.

“Hello, I’m Marc Rogers. I work with the Los Angeles Investigation Department. Nice to meet you all.” he said and shook my hand, and Demi, then Max’s.

“Hi, I’m Justin.” I said. Demi, Max, and I were still breathing heavily from crying.

                “Max.” Max said introducing himself.

                “Hello, I’m Demi.” Demi said.

“Rogers is working on tracking the boyfriend down, Trey Matthews. Why don’t you inform them about the situation a little, investigator?”

“Sure. So apparently when help got here, we found the girl unconscious on the floor, a cloth stuffed in her mouth so she couldn’t scream, seriously injured. We searched the whole house and the neighborhood for Matthews, but we think he made a run for it right before we got here.” Rogers explained.

“You’ve gotta find him. I could kill him myself right now for what he did.” I said.

“We know. This is a very serious crime. But don’t worry about him, we’ve got a team of well-trained officers patrolling the area. He couldn’t have gotten that far.”

                “So what now?” Demi asked.

“Can we go see her at the hospital?” Max asked.

“Yes, of course. But before you do that, we need to ask you some questions about y/n and basically what you know about this incident, so if you don’t mind for about, um… at least half an hour, we’d like to interview you all. That would make it easier for us to work on this case.”

We all nodded. I think Rogers saw that something else was on my mind.

“Do you have any questions before we start? Justin? You seem like something is bothering you.”

“Um… does this interview have anything to do publicly? With the media and everything? Sorry if I’m being unclear.”

“I believe you’re asking about your position in this case as high profile celebrities?” he guessed.

Demi and I nodded.

“Um, no. We will try to keep this case as low-profile as we can. We will be interviewing you two as regular people, not as celebrities, so you don’t have to worry about that.”

Demi and I sighed.

                “Thank you.” I said.

ONE HOUR LATER…

Rogers and his team just finished interviewing all three of us. I was interviewed last. I probably had the longest one too.

I walked out of the private interview room. I saw Demi and Max sitting on the couch waiting for me. They looked up and saw me come out, so they stood up.

                “How’d it go?”Demi asked.

“I just told him all that I knew about this.”

                “So where to now?”

“Can we please go to the hospital now? I want to see my sister!” Max said. We looked at him and smiled to make him feel better.

“Sure, you wanna ride with me or Demi?” I asked him. He thought about it.

“Are you driving a Ferrari?” he asked me. I nodded dangling my keys around. He smiled and chose to go with me. I laughed because I knew liked cool cars.

Demi put her hand on her hip and rolled her eyes. “Boys…”

We got in our cars and drove to the hospital.

y/n was waiting for us there.
