ONE WEEK LATER…

y/n’s POV:

Harry went back to the UK last week.

Life has been really great for everyone, including me because usually, life’s a bitch.

Justin’s POV:

Life’s been flowing by smoothly. Demi and Wilmer, Bruno, y/n, and I finally have more time to hang out. Everyone’s really happy.

y/n’s POV:

There’s no stress. No drama. My life has never been more normal. Things are finally turning around for me.

Justin’s POV:

Is this a sign?

Demi’s POV:

Why do I have a feeling that something great is going to happen soon?

Justin’s POV:

Is it time?

Demi’s POV:

I think this would be the perfect time… The perfect time for Justin to make a move.

Justin’s POV:

The series of events in our lives have been nothing less of a dramatic and winding chess game. We’re nearing the end as more chess pieces are removed from the board.

y/n’s POV:

I think last week was the last time that I’ll ever see Harry again.

Demi’s POV:

We’re waiting.

Bruno’s POV:

I’ve missed a lot while I was on tour, but I’ve briefly been caught up. Now, I wait.

Justin’s POV:

Time’s passing. I need to do something soon. No more waiting. It’s my turn. My move.

TWO DAYS LATER…

y/n’s POV:

I’m at work at the recording studios. Justin texted me this morning. He was inviting our group of friends to a picnic at the beach tonight. He’s just recently updated me and told that Demi, Wilmer, Bruno and his girlfriend are already there. Since I have the latest work hours, Justin told me that he’ll pick me up and we’ll go straight to the beach. It sounded fun, so I said ok.

I was at my desk looking through the papers.

“Knock knock.” I heard a familiar voice say as he knocked on my open office door.

I looked up and smiled when I saw Justin. “Hi, come in!”

                “You ready?”

“Yeah, give me a second.” I said and cleaned up my workspace and got my belongings and followed Justin out of the building.

Being the great friend and gentleman that he is, he opened the car door for me and offered to take my belongings.

We got in the car and were on our way.

“So what’s the occasion?” I asked.

                “What do you mean?”

“You’re inviting us to a bonfire just because?”

                “Yep.”

                I wondered about it. “Ok.”

We arrived at the beach. It was beautiful and we were just in time for sunset. It looked like one of those tumblr photos.

“Wow, that’s gorgeous.” I said in awe.

                “I know.” Justin said.

I looked around and the beach was beautiful, but it was empty. However, I did see an average sized fire pit. “Where’s everyone?”

“Oh, they canceled.” Justin said nonchalantly.

                “All of them?”

“Yup.” he said. He opened his car trunk and got out a picnic basket. “Just you and me.”

I was suspicious and confused, but not in a bad way. “Alright…”

We walked over to the fire pit. The beach breeze was so relaxing.

Justin opened the picnic basket and pulled out a blanket. We spread it out over the sand and sat down. We laid out the food. I realized that it was just enough for two. But I just let go of my suspicion because I was starving.

“God, I haven’t eaten since breakfast!” I said, staring at the food.

“Why not?” he asked, handing me a sandwich.

“Because,” I took a big bite. “I’ve had to run meetings all day and I had no time for lunch.” I said with my mouth full.

We continued eating.

“So why did the others cancel?”

“I dunno.” he shrugged. He didn’t seem to care.

I took another bite of my sandwich. I bit into something. It was a slip of paper.

                “What’s wrong?” Justin asked.

“There’s s-something in my sandwich.” I said with my mouth full.

Justin didn’t answer. He too, stopped eating.

I read the slip of paper. It read:

“Will you go out with me?”

I looked up at Justin, who was now holding a bouquet of roses.

I smiled widely, almost driven to tears. “Of course.” I crashed into him with a hug that had him laying on his back and me on top.

We looked into each other’s eyes. Before I knew it, we were engaged in a deep, passionate kiss.

When we let go, Justin said, “I’ve been waiting a hell of a long time to do that.”

I giggled and tackled him with another deep kiss and in the moment, we both forgot the rest of the world.

THE END.
