Chapter Twenty-Three:

(Kismet)

Seokjin's POV:

Eight months pregnant is taking a toll on me. This baby is always kicking my bladder and it seems as if my new favorite place is the restroom. Somehow the smell of peanut butter disgusts me. A few months ago it was normal for me to eat it, but now even if I smell it for a second, I bolt to the restroom.

Although the revealing of the gender of my baby was a long time ago, I was a little reluctant at knowing the results because I wasn't yet ready to know. Leaving Namjoon was the hardest thing I have ever done, so finding out the gender of our child a month after leaving him was too much of a treason to me.

He must hate me so much, and I don't hold that against me. I also hate myself for doing this. But as much as I hate to know without him, our baby is going to be born and I should know before that happens. As bad as I did, luck is still with me. Hae-won is going to come visit me for the first time since I moved here. She along with Sofia and Milli are going to come to my ultrasound and revelation of my unborn child.

She's going to arrive in twenty minutes so I need to hurry up making dinner. I promised Sofia and the others that I was going to make them one of my favorite Korean food. They were thrilled to try another cultural food other than theirs. I was ecstatic because I missed making Korean food. As much as I like their food, I still love mine.

"Do you need help with anything? You should be relaxing on the sofa, Jin." Amelia scolds me lightly. I laugh, taking the skin of the shrimp and throwing it to the white trashcan. "You should rest instead. I know Carmen verily lets you sleep. I have everything taken care of."

"Thank you, Jin. I'll take a quick nap before Carmen wakes up. Call me when your friend arrives. I want to meet her." I nod at her, turning my back on her and returning to cut more vegetables.

Hae-won called me that she was going to be a little late because her butler couldn't find our address. Her lateness gave me enough time to feed the kids and change from this clothes that were a little sticky and filled with sweat.

"The food is ready. Stop being on your phones or I'll take them away from you." At the mention of taking their phones away, the four teenagers' head spring up like if I have just taken their most precious live possession. Baekhyun's mouth is gape open, while the others look shocked. Even Jungkook whom had his earphones on while he did his homework, stood frozen, a mixture of wanting to cry and wanting to slap me.

"Amanda, Jin is more scary than your mother. I feel bad for you Taehyung. My mother will never do this to me." Baekhyun gives me a forced smile and then disappears through the door. I chuckle seeing the others walk behind him.

That boy must be given everything to him. Seeing how he reacted to taking his phone away, it seems as if he doesn't know the word no. From what I've heard, Baekhyun is an only child and his dad spoils him with everything he has. That explains why Baekhyun acted the way he did. He needs to understand the word authority and discipline. I'm not saying he isn't but from what I've gather, he is one spoil brat.

The table is full with all of the kids when I get back to the kitchen. Their phones are not with them though I did catch Jungkook checking his notifications under the table.

I let slide, pretending I didn't see him as I grab the plates from the top cabinet and distribute to each one of them. Taehyung takes one and passes it down along the table.

Then I bring the steaming hot pot with the shrimp along with other vegetables with my oven mitts on. Taehyung starts to explain to Baekhyun and Amanda all about the dish and how good it tastes.
