Chapter Forty-Nine

(Kismet)

In the few hours that he had been up, sleep lost forgotten, Namjoon had gone to drink some coffee at a convenience store, and then tried to locate Seokjin with the help of Taehyung.

Taehyung was reluctant to tell him, but after much persuasion Taehyung messaged him the place Where Seokjin and Seokjoon are currently at.

In the midst of finding out about what his father did to Seokjin and Seokjin finding out about the letter he had never intended on send it, somehow getting to the hands of Seokjin, Namjoon had forgotten about Ye-Jun and how he had practically left without an explanation on where he was going. Just a kiss goodbye and see you whenever I come back.

Namjoon felt guilty about lying to his boyfriend, felt horrible for not trusting him with certain details of his life, and most of all, for making it seem as he wasn't as important to him as before, which was a total a lie. Ye-Jun was and is one of the most important persons in his life. Then his son came into the picture, but that didn't mean that Ye-Jun would be out of that picture. That just meant Ye-Jun would have to share that picture with his son.

Exhaustion was an understatement at this point. Not just physical exhaustion. Mentally draining exhaustion where to have this gut-feeling guilt riding with you as you live your life is the most painful thing to experience. Sleep can overplayed the exhaustion if you decide to sleep those hours that are necessary to function. Mental exhaustion, in the other, hand was difficult to override.

Constantly having your mind twist, pull, swirl as you try to stay still with all the things that life is throwing at you is difficult. Because your mind doesn't stay still, it just does tricks to make it everything worse, to win and say you can't get out of this game of twists, pulls, and swirls no matter how hard you try.

Several seconds after he had shut the engine off, and giving himself time to calm his pouncing headache while his had been head on top the wheel, Namjoon sighs and gets out of the car. He takes a huge breath out and as he takes oxygen in, he fumbles with his keys until he opens the door.

Since he hadn't been paying attention to his surroundings, he had completely missed out a car parked next to him. And he wouldn't notice that someone else is at his home until he takes two steps on the staircase and is immediately stopped at the sound of a distant laugh. Not just any laugh.

A piercing sound he has relatively heard on several occasions for years now, a laugh he had grown accustomed to.

Minseu.

"What is she doing here?" he mutters, immediately frowning. Her presence means trouble. Suffocation.

Namjoon contemplates whether to barge in or to stay where he is. In one second his decision is already made for him.

"You're telling me that Namjoon is suspicious of you? Well why wouldn't he? You're acting all distant from him. I bet you act all nervous in front of him," Minseu bitterly says, her voice sounding disappointed and holding tension in it.

"Because I feel guilty for keeping all of this from him," Ye-Jun cracks, his voice equally as loud as Minseu's, although his is weighted on sorrow.

Namjoon's heart tightness on the word secret. Ye-Jun's voice worries him. Ye-Jun has been lying to him; his unwanted suspicions on him were coming through and his head was furiously shaking that reality away. He doesn't want to be true.

While he's thinking this, Ye-Jun continues, distraught, weakness increasing. "I don't know why you hate Seokjin so much. I know I should hate him because he was Namjoon's first love, but I simply can't. I want him for myself. I want him to be with me even if there's a possibility that he's slowly falling in love with his. But I don't hate him to the point of ruining his life. Namjoon's father already did and I don't want to."
