Chapter Forty-Seven

(Kismet)

Seokjin is sat between two lawn chairs with Sofia in one side and Amelia in the other. After lunch, and after Amelia announced herself unexpectedly, Sofia suggested that they went outside to enjoy the fresh air that the wind was suddenly picking up.

At first Seokjin was reluctant to follow them. He was still feeling dreadful and he was sort of nervous without his son. He knows that he's in good hands with Taehyung, but that still doesn't shake the feeling off.

Then he realized that he hasn't seen Amelia in a long time and he really, really misses her. Hearing her voice and watching her smile about her boyfriend spiked up a smile, and a genuine laugh to come out of him.

And it was three bottles of Mexican beer (each) that started their conversation to flow. It had been a while since he sat down to relax and just let time consume him.

A shaky sigh escaped his lips once he had finished the last drops of his third beer. His head was well rested on the lawn chair, his eyes looking over his backyard and the trees ahead.

For a little while both Sofia and Amelia spoke in Spanish having a short conversation. The accents, and the flow of foreign words swoosh him into a lullaby almost if it was cradling him like a little baby.

Certain words sounded familiar so he could somewhat assume what they were talking about. 'Vacaciones' 'Mar' 'pasatiempo' 'felicidad' Those words stuck with him, his brain replaying them over and over. At some point they sound weird in his head, the words loosing some letters of the alphabet.

Sofia's laughter again painfully brought a memory of his mother. Although it was cruel to think it, his heart desired, no wished, that she was his biological mother. He wanted Sofia to be his mom so bad. He's certain that if he would been born to Sofia he would of been much happier and his brothers would be too.

A small chuckle, sounding more like a hiccup, erupts from his mouth sending him to a crestfallen state. That thought sounds ridiculous in his head. He had to be born from his mother or else he wouldn't be here. At least a good thing came out of her, Seokjin guesses.

Tonight Amelia had her hair short up to her neck and she was wearing a tight orange dress. She had a matching necklace, and even if her make up was loosing its glow, she still looked stunning. Seokjin couldn't stop looking at her.

Amelia was his sister, not by blood, but by heart. For four years she tremendously helped him with Seokjoon. She was a part of him and now that she's not with him he feels like he's falling apart. Sofia is the best woman that Seokjin had ever met. She didn't understand him like Amelia did, though.

There's a part of him that wants to spill everything on her; maybe she could help him ease his mind and help him fix what's going on with his confused heart.

While his mind was still contemplating this, Seokjin's phones chimes, a couple of pictures from Taehyung's phone appearing on his screen.

On all four pictures Seokjoon is smiling, held by Taehyung. Each picture is different, four different characters: Minnie and Mickey, buzz light year, Cinderella, Winnie the Pooh, and on the last one Rapunzel.

"Taehyung finally sent me pictures of them in Disney land," Seokjin gushes, swiping at a slow pace while he shows them.

"He's grown so much. Look how happy Taehyung looks," Amelia comments, intertwining her hands on top of her chest.

Tears welled up on his eyes, blurring up the pictures and distorting their faces. Taehyung indeed looked happy, and for once he felt at peace.

"I'm gonna print them and put them on an album." Seokjin sniffs and puts his phone away. Sofia squeezes his hand and warmly smiles at him. He misses them so bad. He almost called them.
