Chapter Fifty-Three

(Kismet)

Fluttering sensations above Jungkook's nose wakes him up from his sleep. His eyes are hazy when an image of Jimin appears before him, coming and out of his vision. Jungkook blinks to get rid of the blurry vision he was currently having.

"Are you physically here?"Jungkook groans, his voice raspy, and in need of water.

"Yes. Vivid and alive," Jimin responds with a smile, caressing his hair gently, the feeling familiar and good.

"Cuddle with me," Jungkook sheepishly says, padding the empty space next to him. Jungkook rests his eyes for a while before opening them, fully awake. Jimin besides his arm, completes him.

"Seokjin is glowing, haven't you notice? He opened the door with a smile and then told me how happy he was that we're still together. I haven't seen him that happy since well like the birth of Seokjoon," Jimin comments, tracing his finger on his T-shirt, making Jungkook wished he didn't have a shirt on.

"Not really. I think I've been too caught up with mother and Taehyung. He's super quiet, which I know how deeply this's affecting him, and the more I tell him to tell me how's he feeling, the more he pushes me away," Jungkook sighs, his hand on his head, worry appearing every time he thinks of Taehyung and his current situation.

"I think he doesn't want to talk about it because it makes him vulnerable. Just give him time and he'll come to you," Jimin advices him, removing his finger and pushing himself closer to Jungkook, Jimin's hand placed on top of his stomach.

"You're right. I'm not gonna push him at all," Jungkook chuckles, giving Jimin a kiss on the top of his head," I fucking love your advices."

"Anytime, my love."

After talking to his mother Jungkook had been shaky and on deep on his mind. Nothing had truly hurt as much as seeing her again after what she had done to put Seokjin and Taehyung through so much stress and pain.

Seeing her face, the delicate features he had seen grown without his presence, and the tender touch she once held on his cheek brought him down to tears.

He tried his hardest to keep calm, but his wary, beat down heart couldn't take it. He despised her yet he loved her. She was his mother after all.

Since he was little his relationship with his mother had never been stable, her closeness as a mother only reached to Taehyung. His father had been the one he loved the most and when he died, Jungkook felt so betrayed that he got angry and demanded to have his last name changed to his mother's, a mistake he gravely regretted.

And now as he misses his mother, his heart still yearns for his father the most. Jungkook is certain that if his father was still here, everything would be different. Perhaps Taehyung wouldn't be depressed, he wouldn't be so angry, and Seokjin wouldn't have to sell out his life in order for them to be happy. No matter how much they tried to simmer down Seokjin and let themselves take responsibility, Seokjin still insisted on caring more about them rather than himself. He was so selfless.

And that pisses him off. His mother made Seokjin selfless, he made Seokjin grow up, become the parent she wasn't. And as much as he tried to become like him, he felt short behind. Jungkook wasn't selfless as Seokjin; he wasn't so nice as Seokjin. No. Jungkook was angry and unforgiving. His heart had hatred in him that he didn't want to have. Such guilt would make him dwell on this by himself, wishing sometimes to let this out to Jimin, but he didn't want Jimin to know this little secret of his. Jimin is his world and showing this vulnerable part to Jimin would be like showing an ugly side of him he doesn't want to show to anyone.
