Chapter 35 √

Muli akong napasimangot nang makita ko si Yuan na papasok sa mansion. Nakasunod si Danielle sa kanya. I sighed and rested my chin on the back of my hand.

"Grabe siya. 'Di n'ya man lang talaga naisip na kumustahin ako? I'm so lonely here. Hello?" I mumbled to myself. I can't even help but roll my eyes. Others might think I'm going crazy na.

Iginala ko pa ang tingin ko para hanapin na lang si ate Mary. But she's nowhere to be found. I purse my lip as I look at my empty plate. Ang sarap talaga ng foods na handa for ate Maja's wedding reception. I want to eat more pa sana kaso nahihiya talaga akong pumunta sa buffet table.

I heaved another sigh. Everyone's having fun especially ate Maja and kuya Paulo. I'm so kinikilig every time I look at them. They have this super in love vibes. Kanina, while they're saying their wedding vows, super ramdam ko yung love nila with every words they say to each other. I can sense too much happiness and love in them na naiyak talaga ako. I thought of me and Yuan. I wondered if we will come to that point too. Declaring love to each other in front of our family and of God.  I want to have that kind of love too.

"Hey, Kisses."

I nearly jumped out of my seat when Joe suddenly popped out of nowhere.

"Grabe ka!" Nahampas ko siya sa sobrang gulat ko.

Natatawa naman siyang umupo sa tabi ko. "I didn't mean to surprise you. Masyado lang malalim ang iniisip mo kaya hindi mo 'ko napansin kaagad."

Muli akong napabuntong-hininga. "Sorry nga pala. Nahampas pa kita." I said apologetically. "Does it hurt?"

Tipid siyang ngumiti at saka umiling. "Don't worry about it. I'm fine. By the way, bakit mag-isa ka lang?"

"They're all busy!" I said with a pout.

He chuckled. "Sorry, hindi kita nasamahan kaagad. Dami kasing kailangan gawin, eh."

"It was okay. At least, nandito ka na ngayon." Nakangiti kong sabi.

Bahagya naman siyang natigilan at napaiwas ng tingin. "Okay ka lang?" Nagtataka kong tanong.

He cleared his throat and smiled at me. "Ah, oo. Gusto mong ikuha pa kita ng pagkain?"

My face lightened with what he said. I can't help but nod eagerly. Natatawa naman siyang tumayo na. "Thank you."

"Ikaw talaga. What if I didn't come here? You'll starve yourself?" Sabi niya at pinaningkitan pa ako ng mga mata.

Napanguso ako. "But you're here, right?"

Napahawak siya sa kanyang noo at tila problemadong napatingin sa 'kin. "What am I gonna do with you?"

"Huh?"

"Tsk tsk. You're not even aware of what you're doing to me?" Nakangiwi niyang sabi. Bago pa ako makareact sa sinabi niya ay naglakad na siya papuntang buffet table. Ngunit nakakailang hakbang pa lang siya ay muli siyang lumingon sakin. "By the way, you look so beautiful today." He said and then winked at me.

Napahawak ako sa bandang puso ko pagkatalikod niya. Sobrang init ng mukha ko. Pakiramdam ko, parang sasabog na sa init ang mukha ko!

What's with Joe anyway? Why was he like that? It makes me feel a little uncomfortable.

Umilaw ang cellphone ko na nakapatong sa lamesa sa harap ko. I just received a text message from Yuan. I opened it and a frown creased my forehead as I read his text. He's asking me to come to the treehouse at the backyard.

I looked at Joe at mukhang matatagalan pa ang pagbalik niya. Some men, probably in their mid thirties, are talking to him. Muli akong napatingin sa text ni Yuan.
