Chapter 12: Back

"Let us all welcome! SJA Sessionistas!"

People shouted and cheered for us when we entered the stage of the amphitheater. I can see my parents from here, Nicole's parents, complete attendance ang buong faculty at may-ari ng school. Grabe ang daming tao.

Today's the SJA year-end concert and for the first time we are allowed to sell tickets and invite people sa labas ng school, except family members of course.

Pumwesto na kami sa kanya kanya naming stool. Sa left side ang girls, while the boys are on the right. Wala kaming ginawang script for our performance, we just practiced the flow, and the rest are all adlibs. Kumbaga ang plano lang namin gawin today is to just sing and chill.

The music started playing.. 

We recorded our own version of the songs, we played the instrument for the music and recorded it para yun yung gagawin naming minus one, then Billy--one of our member, mixed everything up para sunod sunod yung mga songs.

Si Liana ang unang kakanta.. She closed her eyes and sang Lea Salonga's On my Own.

"On my own, pretending he's beside me. All alone, I walk with him 'til morning" she opened her eyes and looked at me. I just smiled back at her as she continues, "Without him, I feel his arms around me. And when I lose my way, I close my eyes and he has found me"

Habang kumakanta si Liana, tumingin ako sa audience. Everyone's focused on Liana. Kaya ito yung pinili naming song for her dahil kaya niya yung mga kantahan ni Lea Salonga.

"I love him, I love him, I love him, But only on my own" Liana slowly ended the song. 

The background music slowly faded..

"Here I am playing with those memories again. And just when I thought time had set me free. Those thoughts of you keep taunting me.."

Our newest member, Shaira Mendez is singing Here I Am by Air Supply, we modified the tune so it'll fit her voice, and created a female version of this song.

"Holding you, a feeling I never outgrew. Though each and every part of me has tried. Only you can fill that space inside. So there's no sense pretending. My heart it's not mending.. Nagslow fade ulit yung music and a new track played..

Steph readied her mic.. "Para sa mga sawi, nasaktan, pero patuloy na nagmamahal.." she said in adlib habang nagiintro yung music.

"Kahit na, nagmumukhang tanga. Kahit na sinasaktan ako, umiiyak ako dahil sa 'yo, heto pa rin ako, halos baliw sa 'yo.." she closed her eyes, feeling the meaning of the song.

"Kahit na" Steph continued to sing, with the boys who acted as second voice. "Niloloko mo lang ako.. Kahit na tumingin ka sa iba.. Magmahal ka ng iba.. Magbubulag-bulagan ako.. Masakit man ito dito sa puso ko.."

"Dahil mahal mahal na mahal kita"

"Dahil mahal na mahal kita" the boys sang.

"Hindi ako matatakot, mahihiya. Anuman ang sabihin nila.. Dahil mahal kita"

"Dahil mahal.. mahal na mahal kita"

"Dahil mahal na mahal kita" kami namang girls ang nag-second voice.

"Gagawin ko ang lahat.. Pangako mo lang 'di ako iiwan.. Dahil mahal.. Mahal na mahal kita"

The next music slowly replaced the previous one.. The song that gave me a hard time recording.. Ang sakit kasi nitong kantang ito, yung kakantahin ni Jess..
