For some reason we arrived back in the same corridor we left when last at this place, but at least the time was set correctly. I'll have to look into the device later and check something.
It was a few hours since we last were here at the Stratostation and we were keenly aware of our surroundings.
"Doesn't look like they set any traps or are hanging around." I observed. Kate and I looked around carefully before going anywhere.
We went to our room and swiped the IDs to get in. It was like we had never left. Our clothing bags were still where we had left them and there were no signs of disturbance. The windows were closed though, maybe automatic.
"Ah, that's where I left it."
Apparently Kate had left a certain piece of clothing in the other room because she was in the middle of wondering whether or not to wear something daring. She had kept it for so long.
"What is it?" I inquired, but Kate quickly hid it behind itself.
"Ahmm nothing," she smiled in the cute way she does when she doesn't want me to see something.
Since she was a lady I didn't press forward on my curiosity.
We both sat on the couch and relaxed for a moment while gazing out at the ocean through the window.
"I wonder where they are," Kate pondered.
I put an arm around her shoulder.
"From what you told me, they don't seem to be as bad as they look."
"Deune said he wouldn't hurt me because I look like his sister."
"Simply doing their job as bounty hunters. Hmm, I guess they are just working."
It was nice to think good of someone, even if they are bounty hunters hired by The Illuminati.
"Kate, since we are here do you want to go see something else around here?" A change in subject helps to relieve fears.
"Can we go see the Skylift again? I want to visit Sierra and G2."
"That's a great idea. Oh-we should change. These clothes are the ones we've been using while in The Flood."
"Where do we wash the other ones?" Kate asked. I had a separate section for unwashed clothes in my storage compartment on the Gyro-linium device.
"Well let's check on the touchscreen. they should have some laundromat somewhere here." I headed over to the touchscreen near the door and looked through the facilities nearby in this tower.
"There." Kate spotted it before I did, "Floor 62, Laundry and Tailors."
"Okay, so we go there."
"Right. I'm going to go change now."
Kate gave me a look but this time didn't give me orders to leave. This time she got up and left for the other room. Strangely, she wasn't as shy as before. She didn't close the door to the room she went into.
