Chapter 9

Sophie

It was around 7:30 am when I arrived at school, an hour before first period. I went to each freshmen classroom for the surveys, then to the Student Body's Office for some stuffs to arrange. It didn't take a while for me to do so since 'di naman ganun karami. I passed by Janina and Claudia when I was about to go inside my room.

"Uy, Soph. Na-miss kita agad, huhu. I'll make it up to you later.", Janina said as she hugged me, and I did the same.

"It's okay, Ja. I missed you, too!", clingy kung clingy eh hindi din kami nagsama maghapon kahapon, haha.

"Student's Lounge nalang tayo mamayang break, see ya later mga dai.", Claui said before she disappeared to her room as well as Janina and I.

I entered the room and went to my seat near the window, as I pulled my chair and took a seat, a hand tapped me by the shoulder. I looked at the person who tapped me and began to speak, "Is this seat taken?", her face looks familiar, wait."Uh, not at all.", I replied with a small smile. "Do you mind if I take a seat?", she asked. I nodded and placed my bag on my left side for her to sit. "I'm Danielle, by the way. You can call me Danes.", she reached out her hand for me to take as she introduced herself. I knew it. "Hi, Danes. I'm -", I shook hands with her but then she cut me off when I was about to introduce myself na. "I know who you are, the gorgeous student body president! Sophie Magalona, right? Have we met before? We shared the same class last year, but we didn't get to talk to each other.", okay, so marami siyang tinanong at hindi ko alam kung ano uunahin ko. "Not gorgeous. Yes. Uhm, I don't know? Really?", I replied shyly, then she started to laugh softly and to show off her pearly white smile. Bes, ang ganda niya, huhu. RIP self esteem talaga. "You know what? I think we're gonna be good friends." , she smiled at me and napalingon ako ng 'di oras. Donny was looking at me.

Donny

My seatmate, Christian, and I were just talking about Star Wars for about the remaining time before first period started. From the short distance, I saw Sophie talking to her seatmate. It seems like they're having fun communicating. At least, she wasn't down like yesterday. 

"Yo, Donny."

"Donnyyyy."

"Donato!"

Christian has been calling my attention for about 2 minutes na pala, I didn't notice 'coz I was busy looking at Sophie. Why tho? Our eyes met for about a second but then she returned her gaze to her seatmate.

"Dons, baka mamatay na 'yan sa mga titig mo.", ay shit. Okay, huli na ako balbon.

"Uh, wala lang yun. I just zoned out for a while, masyado pa kasing maaga eh tas wala pa si sir.", I made an excuse para 'di ako halata.

"Pre, huling huli kita tinitignan mo si Ms. President. Ayie! Ikaw ah. Kwento ka naman diyan.", he playfully smacked me by my arm then started laughing.

"Hay nako, Chris. Whatever it is that you're thinking, kabaliktaran lahat.", I playfully rolled my eyes like a child.

"Mark your words, bro. Sometimes, the things that comes to us, happens unexpectedly. Malay mo, maging opposite din yung sinasabi mo.", okay, napa-shut up ako.

I took a deep breath and wiggled my fingers from closing my fists. I took another glance at Sophie's direction, akala ko lilingon siya ulit. But this time, yung seatmate niya yung lumingon.

What?
