Sophie

"On November 20, we will be observed by other heads of different international schools, which means that we have to prepare and set a good example to the observers for good quality ratings—Sophie.", I was just staring at my blank paged journal, not having the energy to participate with the head administrators of our department. "I'm sorry, keep on going.", was my response, pretending that I was listening, then Ms. Reyes continued.

I leaned on the office chair and covered my face with my hands once the meeting was over. As the president, dapat sa akin nakasalalay mga gawain pero wala ako sa mood.

"Sophie, okay ka lang?", Janina said while she took a seat beside me. "Ayos lang, Ja.", I replied coldly. To be honest, I wanted to be alone, wala ako sa mood makipagusap.

Sana gumawa ka ng paraan diba? Hindi yung pinagmumukha mo kaming tanga kakahintay sa wala.

"Akala ko kasi tayong girls lang, I don't want to be surrounded by someone who doesn't even understand that fact that I'm busy, then sisigawan nalang ako bigla—hay nakakaloka.", I quickly replied and bit my lip.

"Sophie, what's the matter? You can tell me naman.", Janina faced me.

"Donny got mad kasi I wasn't able to go him with Hannah and Solana.", I started. "I wasn't able to text back agad kasi Ms. Reyes pulled Claui and I for duty immediately to meet the new student. Then he thought na may balak daw si Perez sa akin when I accidentally just tripped over and fell on him, that was what Donny thought kung bakit hindi ako pumunta.", I explained. "I still feel bad, I don't have the nerves to talk to Hannah and Solana to apologize kasi Donny also mentioned na muntik na daw sila ma-late sa next classes nila from waiting for me.", I added.

"Claui mentioned nga daw na Donny was acting like a baby when she was talking to him that day. Pero grabe ha, he shouldn't have done that. He could've talked to you in a good way.", Janina said. "Gagaan din loob niyan, friend. You'll see.", she assured me, I hope so.

I thought to myself as I glanced through my left wrist under the table, the red lines are still visible. "Sophie... I thought you've overcome with the idea of this?", Janina said and I quickly cover my wrist with my right hand. You know how sensitive I am, I thought to myself before speaking.

"Uy, wala lang 'to. Nahulog lang yung cutter sa akin habang inangat ko yung illustration board.", I lied again, while faking a smile.

"I know you, Sophie. Please, this is not healthy. What would Donny think?", just by the sound of his name makes me want to tear my heart off.

"Actually, h-he's the reason why I d-did this.", tears started falling, blurring my vision.

"Let me call Claui.", Janina grabbed her phone from her bag then dialed to call Claui.

Donny

"Have you talked to Sophie?", my attention diverted from my phone to see Claui on the other side of the table. "Alam mo, ang childish mo umarte. Malaki ka na, Dons.", she added, which made me sigh. "You know how strict I am with time management, Claui.", I said. "Baka kasi hindi niya alam yun, diba? You apologize.", she spat. "I'm sorry.", I sighed again then closed my eyes. "Not to me, Dons. You make it up to Sophie.", I just continued playing Mobile Legends.
