Chapter 4 - Part Two

Sophie

1:50 PM

Finally, free time ko na din. Kaso I still stay productive. Well, president 'yan eh. Chos! Supposedly, kasama ko din dapat sila Jaja and Claui, but they have different errands than I do kasi iba-iba gawain ng officers. Before I went to the Student Body's office, I first went to my locker to get the survey forms for freshmen. Ang nakalagay lang naman sa survey is about the school sites & facilities chuvaness, para naman daw may malagay agad na papers sa office. Tss, tatapon din naman sa last day. Puro reklamo si president, very wrong. HA HA HA. As I went to the Student Body's office, I sat down on the office chair, yung pwede mong ikutin, so yun, nilibang ko muna sarili ko. It's only around 2:30, so I scanned all the drawers of each batch.

2:45 PM

Medyo nainip ako ng onti sa office kasi ako lang, so I decided to take a walk on the soccer field muna. I gently placed back all the folders on its proper drawers before heading out of the office. Nakaka-enjoy din naman pag mag-isa eh, marami kang naiisip, mapayapa. Habang naglalakad ako papunta sa field, minamasdan ko ang simoy ng hangin. As I was in the shade of the sun, I sat down and began to reminisce about stuffs. First day pa lang, pagod na agad ako, bakit kaya?

I closed my eyes, took a deep breath, and enjoyed my own company while listening to the birds, chirping. The tree's branches bumping against each other, the wind blowing through my face, my skin, my hair.

I still remember everything, how could I forget the one who made my heart juju on that beat twice faster than it should? The one who made me feel like the only girl in the world, all the happiness, all the love? But every story has its own ending, in an unexpected way. And we should accept the fact that it already became a history.

"Sophie..", hmm? Am I dreaming? Gutom lang siguro ako kaya nakakarinig ako ng boses. At teka, ako lang naman yung naririto bago pa ako umupo. Oh, well, baka dismissal na kaya may tao na.

"Sophie.", umulit yung pagkatawag sa akin. Shit. That voice, the one I fell in love with. I immediately grabbed my phone from my pocket then checked the time, 3:06 pm. May kailangan pa akong ayusin sa comp lab, I need to go. I have to go.

As I was about to go back inside the campus, a hand grabbed me by the arm. "Aren't we supposed to talk?", I turned around and almost broke down emotionally, pakatatag ka, Sophie.

"Didn't you receive my message? If not, bakit ka nasa field?", he asks me, still holding me.

"Uhm, yes, I did. I-I came here for refreshm-ment l-lang, aalis na din ako.", I replied, stuttering, looking down, then grabbed my bag.

"Look, I just want to clear things with you, Sophie. You know I never left you, I still wish that I can still see you everyday, don't you want that?", Josh explains, with sorrow.

"I don't know anymore, Josh.", tears started to fall, making me sob a little. "I wish you never came back.", oh my god what  am I saying?

"I still love you, Sophie. You don't know how much it breaks my heart ever since that incident."

"If you really do, why did you have to lie to me?", medyo rumarami na mga tao sa field, hay, attention nga naman oh.

"It was for your own good, if I did tell them everything, you wouldn't have been the president. 'Di ba you wanted to handle the school for how many years na din? I don't want the people here to be disappointed, kaya ikaw ang naging president. For your safety, your happiness.", Josh explained further. I can't take this anymore, I left him without me, anything else to say.
