Chapter 15 - Part Two

We spent our afternoon at Nuvali after celebrating mass with Sophie and my siblings. It was fun, really. Sophie got to know each of my sibling's personality. From what I've seen on her, she wasn't bubbly and outgoing ever since she and Josh went off. And I'm happy to see her being witty around people she just met, should I thank myself for bringing her with me? Well, I just don't want anyone to feel alone inside out.

It was around 4 pm when Mom texted Ats and I that she, Tita Michelle, and Dad were on the way home na din so we left as well. 'Di pa pala namimeet ni Sophie si Dad, I'll formally introduce her to him once they get home. Right now, kasabay ko si Solana and Max sa car. Ats, Benj, and Hannah rode together sa car ni Ats so, ayun. Solana was singing the songs that were randomly playing on the radio, which caused all of us to laugh. It was a 15-20 minute ride home, then Solana spoke, "Kuya Donny, can we buy nuggets at McDonald's?", can't say no to a cutie like this. "Yes, sure.", I responded as I turned my head to Solana at the backseat. "Yay!", she squealed.

We decided na mag dine in nalang since hassle kumain pag nasa biyahe. "Ikaw Max, do you want anything?", I asked while lining up. "Kahit iced coffee lang, thanks.", she replied with a smile. I nodded and smiled at her as well. "Ate Max! Let's find a place to sit, let's go!", Solana said as she pulled Sophie while I waited for my turn sa line.

Solana wanted nuggets from Mcdo so we went there muna before heading home since maaga pa naman. Donny was the one who lined up to order then Solana pulled me for us to look a for a table, and we found one agad. While Solana and I took a seat, I was bothered by the song playing. Kay hirap nang maulit muli ang naiwan nating pag-ibig

With the last few lyrics, I was just staring at the sun which was about to set, by the window. Nananadya ba yung song? Hmm. Tuloy pa nga rin ba awit ng buhay ko? I sighed and took a glance on Solana just humming the song. "The song is nice noh, ate Max?", I just gave her a smile. "Have you seen that commercial? When the girl moved on already with another guy? It means that love is sweeter the second time around.", goodness this little girl knows a lot, haha! "You're still young to know that, Solana! Who taught you those things?", I laughed as I asked, "I watch rom-com movies with Ats and ate Hannah!", I pinched her cheeks as to her reply. I turned around then saw Donny walking towards our direction, then looked away again. Is love really sweeter the second time around?

I went to the table where Solana and Sophie are seated then placed the tray down with our order. "Kuya Dons! Ate Max was zoning out kanina, she must've been bothered by the song playing. You should've seen her face!", I laughed with what Solana said as I took a seat beside Solana. "What? No, I wasn't! Trip mo ko ngayon Solana ah.", she started laughing as well. I handed Solana her nuggets and orange juice, Sophie's iced coffee wtih apple pie, then a chicken sandwhich and coke for me. Wait, I know there's this Mcdo theme song. Aha, I remember. Tuloy Pa Rin. The commercial shows that a couple broke up, then the girl moved on already with another guy. Kung kaya mo, kaya ko motto chuchu. I glanced on Sophie, who's busy sipping on her drink while scrolling through her phone, then napatingin din ako sa phone niya since nakalapag sa table.

"Who's that, ate Max?", Solana asks with a mouthful of nuggets. "Solans, don't talk while your mouth is full.", I warned gently, then she swallowed carefully. "Wait, is that kuya Josh?", I took a quick glance on her phone, seeing their selfie together, then she deleted it right away. "Y-yes, baby. You know him?", Sophie asked with a stutter. "Yes, ate! Diba he's your best friend, kuy? You used to play PS4 with him and kuya Benj everyday after school!", Solana knows everything, I swear. Sophie and I had a quick eye contact then she looked away. "Solans, can we not talk about someone who's not here?That's kind of far from good.", I asked while stealing a nugget from her. "Okay, oka - hey! That's my nugget!", she reacted. "Ikaw kasi, yung keep on talking.", I teased. "Solana, do you wanna hear a story?", Sophie asked. "I looove story telling!", Solana said while clapping her hands. "Okay, here it goes.", I started listening din. "There was this girl named Shayne, and a boy named Jacob. Those two really had strong feelings for each other, until one day, Jacob screws up and did something bad with a school mate named Michael. They got into a fist-fight because Michael tried to steal Shayne from Jacob, and Jacob's best friend, Daniel, wasn't able to do anything since Jacob was so mad.", Sophie paused for a while, and Solana's eyes were wide open as well as her mouth. This is familiar. (disclaimer: if you guys still remember Donny's POV from Chapter 3, congrats! You made it this far kaya baka ma-familiarize niyo haha) "What happened next?", Solana asked. "Jacob stopped going to school since he got kicked out for physical fighting, when Michael was supposed to be the one to be out. The school officials didn't make him leave since he was the captain of the football team next to Jacob, so ayun.", "Oh no! How about Shayne and Jacob?", Solana asked, curiously. "Shayne didn't know anything about the issue until the last year. She only knew that Jacob was at US, spending time with his mom. But Jacob didn't tell her the truth. She was left dumbfounded, as if she didn't care.", Sophie took a deep breath before talking again, "Shayne hates it whenever people lie to her. No matter how big or small, she'll shut you out. Kaya mahirap makuha tiwala niya ngayon since that one happened.", I was just quiet the whole time while she was talking, and by this time Solana was speechless. "That is so sad. I wonder how she's feeling right now.", "Shayne doesn't want to hear a word from him anymore. She still feels sad from what happened.", then she looked at me, "But then later on, his best friend started to reach out for her, making her forget that Jacob exists.", my heart started beating fast. I know the people she's talking about, she just changed the names. "It may seem fast but it's on you if you trust your instincts if you start to feel something.", she gave me a smile and I did. "Oh my goodness! So, it's Shayne and Daniel going out right now?", Solana asked cheerfully. "Not yet, Solans. But we'll find out soon.", I answered for Sophie then she giggled. "Oh, I hope they end up together! Like what I said kanina, ate Max. Love is sweeter the second time around.", my goodness, my sister knows a lot talaga.
