Chapter 19

Sophie

"To all junior and senior high school students, please proceed to your respective clubs/organization for the annual school fair meeting. To all club presidents and sports representatives, please proceed to the Student's Coordinating Body room. Students are expected to be present by 10 am. Thank you.", I announced the notice twice at the Principal's Office microphone, assuming that everyone heard of it. After doing so, I checked my watch that says 9:16 AM. Maaga pa naman masyado, so I went to the library first. We don't have classes today, but we're gonna spend the day brainstorming for our annual school fair. For us seniors, it's our last fair so we're gonna make the most out of it.

10:04 AM

It's already 10 am and the SCB room is already filled with the presidents and sports representatives. To my surprise, Miguel is present. And he's with Danielle. Ugh. They better be cooperative here although there's a feud between us. My co-officers are already inside as well, and hindi pa kami complete so nag attendance muna kami. Claui said na she'll be late because may aasikasuhin daw siya with her mom. As for Janina, I don't know where she is. Siya pa man din Secretary. "Sophie, here's the attendance.", Andrea, the Gazette President, handed me the attendance. I scanned it first before starting the meeting.

Pangilinan, Donato Antonio L. - no signature

Punzalan, Janina V. - no signature

I wonder where these two are, we can't start unless everyone's here.

Donny

I got a text from Claui that Sophie announced that all club presidents and sports representatives have a meeting at the SCB room by 10 am, and I'm already 15 minutes late 'cause of traffic plus, na-late ako ng gising. Damn it. As I reached the school's parking lot, I turned off the engine then grabbed my gym bag. "Bad trip!", I groaned, kinagat ako ng lamok sa leeg. I locked the car with my car keys . While I was walking, I saw Janina at the parking as well then I ran to her. Pucha pinagpapawisan na ako, ang init. "Yo, Janina!", I greeted her. "Oh, hey Donny.", she greeted back, then she locked her car with the keys as well. "Aren't you supposed to be at the meeting?", she asked as we walked together to the entrance door. "Yeah, and I'm already late. Ikaw din, diba?", I said, while scratching the mosquito bite on my neck. "Yup, hassle ng traffic. My gulay.", she groaned. 'Di rin mapakali si Janina, pinagpapawisan na din siya. We're already a few steps near the SCB room, then Janina knocked thrice on the door before we entered. "Oh, there they are. Finally.", as we entered, they all looked at me and Janina as if we did something against the law.

Sophie

"Okay guys, let's start na kahit wala pa yung dalawang kulang.", I started the talk then all eyes were on me. "Of course naman lahat tayo may kanya-kanyang gawain dito, so I hope na lahat talaga tutulong, hindi yung manghaharot lang diyan sa tabi.", my goodness. Kakasimula palang, naghaharutan na si Miguel at Danes. I didn't mind their business for a minute, then I started talking again. "Each president or two will have their own booths, kayo na bahala sa kung ano man gusto niyo gawin dun and who will be your partner.", I continued. I then distributed the folders to each one of them, then there were three knocks on the door. "Oh, there they are. Finally.", someone said. "Hey, we really apologize for being late.", Janina said as she entered, followed by Donny. "It was traffic, we're really sorry.", Donny continued. Everyone's attention was on them, Janina was buttoning the last upper buttonhole of her blouse then wiped her mouth with wipes, and Donny was like covering something on his neck. He removed it his hand afterwards, then pulang pula yung side ng neck niya. Wait, ayoko mag-assume. I know what you're thinking. Bakit iba kutob ko.. Did they use "traffic" as an excuse sa ginawa nila? And bakit magkasama sila? Tsaka, bakit ako nagseselos?

"Traffic, really? Didn't you guys eat each other out?", Danes blurted out then I glared at her. She must've thought the same thing as I did, but I shrugged it off nalang. Then Janina and Donny looked at each other with a surprised look on their faces. "Why don't you and Miguel eat each other out?", Donny spat back, making the tss sound. "Don't damay me to your kaharutan. Ugh, kadiri.", Janina said, with an eye roll. Miguel gave Donny a death glare, and I sighed then continued with our meeting. Janina and Donny took a seat next to each other since the empty chairs were just right next to each other. "Anymore comments, Torres?", I asked, with annoyance. With that question, it made her shut up. "Okay, let's proceed.", each activity or booth were chosen by each representative and leaders, and the others started feeling bothered with Miguel and Danes' noise. "Kung gusto niyo magharutan, then leave. The door is always open. Maghanap kayo ng sarili niyong president.", I said. "If you don't need me, mas 'di ko kay kailangan.", I added. I gave them a death glare, then they started to walk out of the room. "Thank you, Sophie! My goodness, nakakairita na sila.", Brian, the Arts and Designs President said, then everyone gave out their comments about those two pabida. "No prob, it looks like mas may importante pa silang gagawin eh.", the others laughed, and I did the same. "By the way, need pala natin ng short performance for the guests and the lower batch. May kilala ba kayong pwede sumayaw, kumanta, or anything?", majority answered no, then I frowned. "I know some who can dance.", Donny said, with a smirk. "Really? Okay, good! Since ikaw may kilala, ikaw na bahala mag-invite ha?", I raised an eyebrow with an approving look and smiled then took a seat.

Donny

Ang funny lang ha, Danielle thought that may nangyari sa amin ni Janina. Ang lakas mag-assume, kaloka. After she and Miguel walked out, Sophie asked, "By the way, need pala natin ng short performance for the guests and the lower batch. May kilala ba kayong pwede sumayaw, kumanta, or anything?", majority answered no, then she frowned. "I know some who can dance.", I said, with a smirk. "Really? Okay, good! Since ikaw may kilala, ikaw na bahala mag-invite ha?", she raised an eyebrow with an approving look and smiled then took a seat. To be honest, wala akong kilala na marunong sumayaw. I could ask Hannah, but I think she's busy din for the fair. Napasagot ako ng di oras kasi wala pa ako naco-contribute, ang galing mo, Donato. Hay nako.

3:49 PM

"How about you perform nalang? Magaling ka naman sumayaw bro eh.", Hans said while dribbling the ball then shooting it after. "Bro, the last time I danced was during our family reunion. They all laughed at me!", (disclaimer: if you guys have watched Hannah's vlog during their Christmas get together, ya know what I'm saying haha) "Well, you know, the reason why they laugh is because you're good.", Hans said, poking my shoulder. "'Di ba you like Sophie? Baka matuwa pa yun sa'yo, and malay mo mahulog din siya sa'yo.", he continued. If this isn't only for the school fair, Sophie. Matagal ko na sanang ginawa 'to para sa'yo para mahulog ka din sa akin.
