As much as I just wanted to lay in bed, I couldn't. It was our last day of school, only three exams stood between me and three months of freedom. Knowing that my teachers were going to be giving out extra credit if you dressed up this morning, I reluctantly decide to put on a dress. I finish getting ready, grab my backpack and my phone and go downstairs. I lock the door behind me as I walk outside.
"You look cute," Sarah says, as soon as she walks outside
"Thanks, I decided to dress up for the extra credit,"
"I thought about it too, but I changed into something more comfortable at the last minute,"
"You still look cute though,"
"Thanks, I have an idea, after school, we can go get lunch at this really good diner downtown, and if you're up for it, we can go shopping and get some clothes and stuff for camp"
"Do you want to invite the boys? Or just make it a girls day?"
"Let's bring them along too. it'll be fun, and you'll get to spend time with Zack,"
Sarah and I got off the bus and walked into the cafeteria, joining Zack and Luke who were already seated at our usual table
"Good morning girls, I brought breakfast for everyone," Luke says as he pushes a box of donuts toward us.
"This is our last day of school tradition," Zack says
"I don't know if I can eat. I'm so nervous"
"You've got nothing to be afraid of Lila. You'll do amazing" Luke says
I take a donut from the box and slowly eat it.
"Lila and I are going go to White's Diner after school before we go shopping, do you guys want to come with us?"
"That sounds fun, count me in," Luke says
Zack nods, "I'm in,"
The warning bell rings, signaling that we had 5 minutes to get to class. "You okay Lila" Sarah asks as I walk into our math class. Taking my seat between them.
"I'm nervous,"
"We got this" Zack reassures me
I watched as Mrs. Williams passed out the exams to each row. Once I received my test. I slowly began to work. I grew more confident as I finished each problem. I made sure to go back and check my work each time I finished a problem.
The next two exams went by just as quickly as the first. When the final bell rings, We walk back to our lockers to empty them out.
"I am so glad school is finally over!" Sarah says as she shuts her locker door
"Me too,"
"Let's go get food, I'm starving,"
We walk out the front door of the school to a beautiful sunny afternoon, we start walking toward downtown, luckily it's only about a 10-minute walk from the school,
"Hey guys, wait up,"
We turn around to see Luke and Zack running to catch up with us.
"Mind if we walk with you guys?" Luke asks
"Not at all," She says
Within a few minutes, Sarah and Luke are walking in front of us holding hands, talking and laughing.
"How do you think you did on your finals?" Zack asks, breaking the silence
"I hope I did well, but if not, I dressed up for the extra credit, that will help bring up my grade some"
