One Last Dance

I had just finished putting on my makeup, knowing that Zack was going to be here any minute to pick me up. I looked in the mirror and smiled. Tonight was going to be incredible

"You look beautiful," Dad says giving me a gentle hug

I smile, "Thank you,"

"Zack's here Lila," mom says, grabbing her camera.

I opened the door and ran outside to his arms.

"You look absolutely gorgeous, I can't believe I'm taking the most beautiful girl in school to homecoming with me,"

"Smile, and look like you love each other," Mom says

Zack wraps his arms around my waist and we pose for pictures. "Come on Lila, smile, and act like you love him," Dad says

"There's no pretending, she loves me," Zack says

'I smile so mom can take her pictures. Once she was finished, Zack took my hand into his and we walked to his car. he opens my door for me and helps me into the car before running around to the driver's side. Once he gets in the car, he turns to look at me and smiles "You really do look beautiful,"

"You look better than I do Zack, light purple looks good on you,"

"Really? I'm not a fan of it,"

I nod, "You look so handsome,"

He smiles, "I love you,"

"I love you too,"

"Are you excited to dance with me tonight?"

"Of course, I'm also excited about dinner with our friends,"

"I am too, I'm starving,"

"Me too, I didn't eat today,"

"Why not?"

"It took me three hours to get ready, I didn't have time,"

"I'm surprised you and Sarah didn't get ready together this time,"

"Her sister was in town and I didn't want to intrude on their sister time, or else we would have,"

"I'm sure they would have loved to have you getting ready with them, you know you're basically like a sister to her,"

"I know, but she doesn't get to see her sister a lot since she lives in Texas,"

"They're moving back here, so she'll get to see her more,"

"I didn't know that,"

"She told us Wednesday, the day you stayed home because you were sick,"

"Oh, that explains it,"

"I thought she would tell you since you weren't at school,"

"I would have rather been at school instead of throwing up every five minutes. Both Addy and my mom asked if I was pregnant,"

Zack laughs, "We know that isn't possible,"

"I told them the same thing, We haven't done anything yet, even though they didn't believe me and my mom made me take a pregnancy test,"

"Really? she did?"

"Yeah, and I wasn't happy about it, but I did so she'd stop bothering me,"

"It was negative right?"

I looked over at him, "Obviously, If we haven't done anything how could it be positive,"

"I'm just making sure,"

"Are you trying to say I'm cheating on you?"

"No, I know you wouldn't do that, it was a dumb question, I'm sorry,"
