Baptized

It had been two days since I had talked to Sarah or Josie. I hadn't left the cabin besides going to the nightly services.

Zack brought meals to the cabin where we ate and prayed together, during the afternoon he would go out and enjoy the activities, while I sat in my bunk and journaled or read the bible he had given to me.

This afternoon was different, I had decided to sit on the bench and watch as Zack and Luke played soccer with some of the other guys. I bought my drawing stuff with me so I could have something to keep myself busy.

"Hey" I hear from behind me. Sarah sits down beside me. "I'm sorry, I know I haven't been a good friend the last couple of days. I just hate seeing my best friend upset and not knowing what's wrong, or whose butt I have to kick for upsetting her. I hope you can forgive me,"

I laugh, "Of course I forgive you," I gave her a tight hug

"So whose butt am I kicking? Hopefully, it's not Zack's"

"No, Everything is great between us. He's been taking care of me and making sure I've eaten, He's been there to wipe the tears away, or stay up with me at night when I can't sleep"

"I heard you are in a cabin with Zack, Luke and Grace, I'm glad they've been there when I wasn't being a good friend,"

I've gotten closer with Grace, she feels like an older sister to me, and Luke has been right there along with Zack when I was upset. He gives the best hugs"

"He does, I'm glad you got closer with him, and Grace,"

"I finally worked up enough courage to kiss Zack,"

"Really? When?"

"Yep! After service the first night we sat on the bench by the lake and talked about the message. When I told him I wanted to get closer to God again but I had forgotten my Bible, he gave me the Bible he's had since he got saved at 8, and how he knew I would take care of it. Right after that, I kissed him"

"Aww that's so sweet,"

"He hasn't stopped kissing me since,"

She laughs, "He loves you,"

Zack and Luke sat on the ground beside us

"Everything okay between you two?" Luke asks

"Yeah, everything's good," Sarah gives me a tight hug

"Good, I hated seeing you two not talking,"

"I did too," Zack says

"I hated not having my best friend with me all the time,"

"I'm sorry I isolated myself the last few days,"

"It's okay Lila," Sarah says

I start telling her about everything that had happened the first day and everything I had been dealing with emotionally and spiritually.

"I'll be praying for you, remember you can always talk to me about stuff, I'll always be there to listen,"

"I'm praying too," Luke says

"Thanks, guys, that means a lot,"

"Its almost time for the baptism service,"

"Woah, it's 5:00 already?

"Almost, After the service, we head back home,"

"Have you decided on getting baptized?" Zack asks

I smile and nod "I want to be baptized. I talked with Grace this morning"

"That's awesome Lila, I'm so happy for you," Luke says

"I'm going to get rebaptized," Zack says

"I didn't know you could do that,"
