Forgiven

It was a little after midnight by the time that we had gotten back to Sarah's house. The drive home was pretty quiet, everyone was tired from the weekend, and I knew Zack had a lot on his heart.

"We're home guys, get ready for bed and get some rest, I love all of you," Mrs. Campbell says

The boys went upstairs to get ready for bed, Sarah and I slowly walked in behind them.

"We're going up to my room, text me if you need anything," Sarah says

"Zack and I are going to my room, so we'll be right down the hall,"

"Just remember what we talked about, be careful girls,"

"Nothing is going to happen, mom, we just want time to talk to them,"

"I'm just reminding you,"

"I know, but nothing is going to happen,"

"Goodnight, girls, I love you,"

"Goodnight mom,"

"Once Zack falls asleep, I'll come in and talk to you and Luke, there's a lot I need to tell you,"

"You can talk about it if you want to, but there's no pressure,"

"I want to, It's better you hear the story from me than Zack,"

She smiles, "Okay, We'll be up for a little while,"

"I'm going to make sure Zack's asleep first, He's going to have a rough day,"

"I know you told me, the best thing we can do today is be there for him, and do whatever he wants,"

"Yeah, That's what I planned to do, I'll see you guys in a little bit, I'm going to make sure that he's okay,"

I walked into my room and saw Zack laying in bed he was almost asleep. I quickly changed into my pajamas and laid down beside him, playing with his hair and snuggling with him until I heard light snores from him. After a few minutes of laying there with him, I slowly got up and walked down the hallway to Sarah's room

"Hey, Lila," Luke says

"Hey, he's asleep, I made sure I laid with him for a little bit to make sure,"

"Good, he needs sleep," Sarah says

"I guess I should explain everything, I know Zack blabbed it to you guys the other day,"

"What happened? Is what he said true?" Luke asks

"Yeah, It's true. Long story short, I had said 'Yes' to him, but that wasn't good enough, he drugged me and I woke up the next morning without clothes on in my bed alone,"

"Why didn't you tell us?"

"I didn't know how to, I hate talking about it, when I started told Zack about it, I started having nightmares about it, I've been having them for weeks now,"

"Oh Lila, I'm sorry, you never deserved that,"

"I'm going to kill him," Sarah says

"He's halfway across the country, there's nothing you can do, because of him I'm terrified that Zack would do something similar and that's why we haven't taken that step yet,"

"If Zack even thought of something like that I'd kill him, nobody does something like that to my best friend and gets away with it,"

"Zack would never do anything like that Lila, He loves you and he'd never hurt you," Luke says

"I'm just scared, the nightmares have been getting really bad recently,"

"If you wake up because of one, come wake me up, I want to be there for you, you're my best friend and I hate to see you hurting,"
