Last Day of School

I let myself sleep in this morning, It was the last day of school and I only had one exam standing in between myself and three months of freedom. Since Sarah and I had early dismissal, the only exam we had today was English and we didn't have to be at school until 10:30.

"Good morning sweetheart, don't you look beautiful," Dad says as I walked into the kitchen

"Thanks, Dad, I dress up every year for the extra credit,"

"Not that you need it, You've had straight A's all semester,"

"She's had straight A's every semester since Freshman year, and after today, my baby will be a senior," Mom says

"I hope to keep it that way next year too,"

"You will, you take your schoolwork more serious than anyone, you even help your friends understand it," Dad says

"He's right Lila, You are very intelligent, and always take the time to help those around you, I have no doubts that you'll do well in your last year of school,"

"I'm glad I only have one exam today, I'm excited to have a few months off,"

"What do you have planned after school today?" Dad asks

"I think Sarah and I are going to the mall and we're going to do some shopping for camp stuff, I know we're all meeting over at Sarah's house in a little bit for breakfast since we don't have to be at school until 10:30,"

"Here's some money to get stuff for camp," Mom says handing me some cash

"Thanks, Mom, I'll text you when I know for sure what we're doing,"

"Alright sweetheart, have a good day at school, and good luck on your test,"

Dad kisses my forehead, "Not that you need any luck, I know you're going to do amazing,"

"Thanks, Dad, I'll see you guys tonight,"

"Bye sweetheart, we love you," Mom says

I walked outside and across our front yard to get to Sarah's house. Zack and Luke were pulling in the driveway as I reached the front steps. Zack comes running up to me and hugs me tightly. "I've missed you,"

"You just saw me yesterday,"

"I know, but I still missed you,"

I gently kissed him, "I missed you too,"

"You guys say we're bad," Sarah says

"He started that,"

"We miss you guys when you aren't around," Luke says

"Well, after today we have the next few months to spend together," Sarah says

"What are you doing today after school? Can I take you out to lunch?" Zack asks

"We're going to the mall to get some stuff for camp," Sarah says

"What if we take you guys out to lunch, then we can all meet up at the mall and you guys can get what you need," Luke suggests

"I guess we can do that,"

Zack kisses my cheek, "We can go wherever you want Lila,"

"We'll figure that out later, I'm ready for breakfast,"

"My mom has the donuts in the dining room, let's go eat," Sarah says

"I'm surprised you're hungry, you never eat breakfast," Zack says

"I'm not nervous about the exam we have today, it's the easiest one,"

"How did you guys do on the Chemistry and Algebra exams yesterday? I got an A on the Algebra exam and a B, on the Chemistry exam, I finished Algebra with 91% and Chemistry with 93%," Luke asks
