Sweet 16

"Happy Birthday Lila,"

I slowly opened my eyes and saw Sarah, Luke, and Zack standing around my bed. I covered my head over with the blanket.

"Nope, you're getting up," Sarah says, pulling the blanket off of me

"Come on Lila, We've got a surprise for you," Luke says

"I have coffee for you if you get up," Zack says

"Fine, I'm up,"

I slowly sat up in bed and took the cup of coffee from him and took a sip.

"I'm going to help you get ready," Sarah says

"Do you want us to wait downstairs," Luke asks

"That's up to you guys,"

"I'm staying here, I want to spend time with my girlfriend on her birthday,"

"I've got an outfit in the bathroom already waiting for you,"

I got up and walked into the bathroom, quickly changing into the outfit she had laid out for me. "This is why I love you, I never have to figure out what I want to wear," I said as I came out of the bathroom

"Love you too, now sit and I'll do your hair and makeup,"

"I don't understand why you guys have to do hair and makeup everyday, you're pretty enough without it," Luke says

"There's a lot of reasons, It makes us feel better about ourselves, it makes us feel more put together, we want to impress boys,"

"Woah, I better be the only boy you're trying to impress," Zack says

"I meant in general babe, but yes, you're the only boy I'm trying to impress,"

"You both are beautiful without makeup or your hair done," Luke says

"Thank you, Luke, but I still feel better with it on," Sarah says

"Me too,"

"I just wish you could see yourselves through our eyes," Zack says

"That's never going to happen,"

"I know, but I'm still going to keep reminding you how you're beautiful to me,"

"You both remind us multiple times a day,"

"That's part of our job," Luke says

"We aren't together though remember?" Sarah says

"I know, I'm trying to prove to you that I'm going to be intentional in spending time with you,"

"It still feels weird going on dates but not being together,"

"I promise it's coming soon, I just can't tell you what I have planned, I want it to be a surprise,"

Sarah frowned, "Okay,"

Luke hugs her tightly, "I promise you're going to love it,"

"He's right, I've been helping him plan it," Zack says

"He's also been helping me plan the dates we've been on,"

"Speaking of which, Lila I'm taking you out for your birthday tomorrow night," Zack says

"You don't have to Zack, We're doing enough today we're having lunch and spending the day at the mall shopping,"

"I still want to take my girlfriend out for a dinner date to celebrate her birthday,"

"Alright fine, just don't over do it, I don't want to go anywhere fancy, just something casual this time,"

"Fine with me,"
