Lins POV
"Someones looking fancy." I say, stepping into Kelsey's room."Oh, hey. How was last nights show?"
"Pretty good. No one forgot their lines."
"Well that's always good." She says, sticking a pin under the two braids tied from the front, attaching in the back, the rest of her hair loosely curled. She has on a dress, all black fabric until her chest and then from where a strapless dress would cut off to the sleeve, lace with a scoop neck and a necklace from that box.
"So why are you all dressed up?"
"I'm-a seeing a show."
"You have a date, don't you?"
"No. What time is it?"
"Ten-twenty. Is it Jackson?"
"No." She says, sticking an earring in.
"Bet your glad the girls made you get that stuff."
"Very."
"You look so grown up. And very nice."
"Thank you. Have a good show."
"Have a good date."
"It's not a date." I laugh as she walks out.
"Vanessa." I call a moment later.
"Yeah?" She calls.
"I think Kelsey blocked me on twitter."
"Yeah. I told her to."
"Why?"
"She'll unblock you tomorrow. I made her. You'll see why."
"Okay?" I look around, noticing a drawer slightly open. I bed down and slide it the rest of the way, smiling at the sight of an old teddy bear. I slide the picture out from underneath it. A young girl in a black and white image stares back at me, her eyes digging into me, her hair of light and dark falling onto her shoulders and past them, the camera focused in on her soft and sad face. Her eyes catch my attention, trapping them on hers. She stands outside in the cold, bruised and sick. I break free to see the teddy bear at the bottom if the image, her arm in front of it, holding it to her.
"Gorgeous child." Vanessa says, startling me. "Looks just like her now. I sometimes wonder if she knows how pretty she is but I honestly don't think she cares that much about attraction."
"Her life is too depressing for her to care if she's pretty."
"It's not so depressing anymore. She's recovering. Slowly but still."
"Where is she?" I look at Vanessa but she is walking out of the room, not answering me. "Are you making Kelsey not tell me?"
"Oh, Kelsey wasn't going to tell you. I'm the reason you'll know. I shake my head and she laughs, walking away down the hallway.

"Vanessa! Where are we going? You won't even tell me what show we're seeing." I say in the cab on the way there."It's a small one. But a good one."
"Where's Kelsey? Is she in on this. I tried to explain to the cast but they didn't get it or didn't tell me."
"The cast is either just as confused as you or just found out. Leave it be. And Kelsey is meeting us there."
"Oh, so she's seeing it with us."
"Yes. It's the show she saw yesterday."
"Why did she go without us the first time?"
"Just stop asking questions." She says.
"Fine. You look gorgeous." I say, leaning over and giving her a peck on the lips.
"Thank you. You look handsome."
"Thank you I look out the window for a few minutes until we come to a stop and climb out in front of a theater. Kelsey is standing out front next to Jessica, leaning against the wall of the building, watching people across the street. She always entertains herself by watching people. Her hair is in french braids and she's dressed in a simple blue dress. This is the other dress that the girls got with the cars. She finally hung up the two dresses, raincoat, and two sweaters the other day. The rest is still in the bag. I pay the driver and step out.
"Hey." She says when she notices us.
"Hi, girls." She turns her attention towards Jessica. "Is this your first time seeing it?"
"She knows more of it than I do." Kelsey says.
"I do know a lot of it. But seeing it on stage, it is." Jessica says, leaving me confused.
"You guys like to choreograph on each other, don't you?" V asks. They nod.
"All the time. Should we go in?"
"Sounds good." I'm extremely confused for a while and it's not until were are in our seats and I look at the playbill that I even know what I'm seeing. It doesn't have the yellow playbill at the top, because it's a performance and production company that does much smaller shows, but it's a thin booklet that says Shallow Water. The color is white but fades into a blue as it goes further down the page, the words in the center, a graduation hat leaning on the edge of the R at the end of the title.
Reading through the people that worked on it, I finally understand.
Choreography by Kelsey Emmott
I look to my left where she sits.
"That's what you were keeping from me." She shrugs.
"I didn't think you'd be okay with it." She waits for my response as I just stare at the booklet. I never respond before the lights go down and I take Vanessa's hand. It's a fairly nice theater and we have front row balcony seats which aren't that far away since it's not huge. I pay close attention to the choreography, glancing at Kelsey every once in awhile. Her eyes jump from actor to actor and I can tell that she is tense but I find myself able to enjoy it and allow myself to be impressed time and time again. I knew she was organized and could choreograph and teach but not like that. And the singers had good control of their voices. I'm very impressed with it all.
"That was amazing Kelsey." I say, hugging her at the end.
"Thanks. Are you mad?" Only that reminds me that there was ever a reason I could have been.
"Not at all. You seized the opportunity when it's presented. I wish I'd known though. Then again, I'd be more worried about your exercise. So maybe it was good this way for that one thing but don't keep stuff from me." I turn to V. Dinner?" I ask.
"I made reservations."
