Lin's POV
"Oh my god." Carleigh whispers. "You said that they told you that she was okay."

"That's what they said. I don't have Instagram. It's not like I saw if they posted anything of her."

"They did. I just- I didn't see her legs- they're sticks. And she was in the background. I didn't see her all that well." Kelsey talks to Vanessa on the side of the stage. She has leggings and a shirt on that falls to the middle of her thighs, and a unzipped sweater over it. Not her her own clothing, as expected, considering she only has a backpack.

"She's back to how she was before her attempt."

"She can't be. It was two weeks."

"Lin!"

"She's healthier than that. Somewhere in her. Her organs probably aren't failing. That much." We laugh, sadly. "Her clothing is baggy. We can't just assume what's under it. I'm sure she's fine."

"I guess. Yeah, it is kinda baggy." Vanessa nudges her head towards us and she looks our way.

"Hey." I say approaching her. "We missed you."

"I missed you guys too." We hug but I get scared that I'm gonna crush her.

"So I thought we'd go out to eat when you're done here."

"Yeah. I'm finishing up with Tommy. Give me ten."

"But few people would have been able to see it. Especially because this theater is less wide than a lot of them."

"Good. But she's fine, right?"

"Yeah, she jut banged her knee."

"Still. Ouch."

"Anyways, How was Chicago?"

"Pretty nice."

"Carleigh told me you liked it there. And why."

"Yeah. The cast is pretty cool too."

"Okay, I'm gonna be honest. You're eating fine and I don't get it." She laughs.

"I was eating fine before. I just didn't get a lot the last two and a half weeks. I'll gain it back."

"You better." She rolls her eyes and Vanessa just laughs.

"Jackson. Kelsey isn't here." I say upon answering the door.

"I know. She's with Pippa. I actually wanted to come and talk to you."

"Oh, really?"

"May I come in." I step aside to let him imto the room.

"And if she doesn't come to us?"

"Then she has Jackson. She's gonna be okay."

"Vanessa, we're losing her. We lost her honesty. She doesn't confide in me like she did after all that time."

"Well, you can't force her to. She said that she would tell you. Give it time. If she never does, then she never does. You've gone too far. And it's not your fault. You care about her. But you have to remember that she's an adult. And that she's moving out soon. She'll be on her own and she has her friends. I don't want to see her drift from the cast and I don't want to lose her, but before she ran, she was well enough to leave."

"V, she doesn't have a job."

"She does. She's teaching and could be choreographing the junior companies next show for the same place. She doesn't know much about it right now. Either way, she's gonna leave."

"She ran away. I need to know why if I'm gonna let her go so early."

"I'm sorry, Lin. We can't get our way with her anymore."

"Where are you getting this from?"

"She's happy, Lin. She put her life back together. We helped in that. But she's twenty years old and she's been out there in the world before."

"I still wanna know why she left."

"Give it time."
