Lunch was great. We went to a diner in Dallas, had burgers and fries and milkshakes and I was able to forget about the misery at home for a while. Scott's parents even insisted on paying for my food even though I had offered to pay myself, since I hadn't been invited in the first place, but they wouldn't let me. They said it was a family event, and I was part of the family. I nearly cried when Connie said it but I managed to compose myself.

Now I was lying on Scott's bed in my boxers, waiting for him to come out of the shower.

He'd been over at my house earlier. He'd brought most of my clothes, the suitcase that was in my room, and some of my make up that I'd hidden in my bathroom. How did he even know-? Either way, I was happy that he did find everything that I needed.

"Hey, baby."

Scott's voice pulled me out of my thoughts. He was smiling, his hair wet, his chest exposed and a towel was loosely wrapped around his hips.

"Hey." I bit my lip as my eyes traveled down his body. The towel slid to the floor and he went to his closet to put on a new pair of underwear. I sighed, making him chuckle.

"What?" he asked.

"Nothing."

"Did you like what you saw?" He raised an eyebrow at me suggestively. I tried to play it cool.

"No. Wasn't really my thing."

He smirked, now coming to the bed and straddling my lap.

"I know you liked it," he whispered, trying to kiss me but I pulled away playfully.

"I didn't. You aren't even that big."

He gasped, pretending to be offended, but laughed afterwards.

"You loved it," he insisted, and I couldn't contain my smile anymore which of course had to give me away. "I knew it!"

I kissed him to shut him up effectively. When I tried to pull away a few seconds later he just followed my movement, so we ended up making out for a while. When we parted a few minutes later we were out of breath and our lips were swollen. I smiled.

"Thank you, baby. For letting me stay."

He kissed me once more, letting his lips linger on mine for a while. "There's no need to thank me, love. You're always welcome here."

"You're the best boyfriend I could've ever asked for."

"I love you," he whispered, starting to kiss me again and making me lay down.

"I love you, too," I whispered, reciprocating his kisses and trailing my fingers down his spine, enjoying the feeling of his lips on mine as long as it lasted.

"Are you tired?" He asked after a while.

"No."

"Mitchy."

"Okay, yes... But I want to keep making out with you!"

He chuckled. "We have as much time to make out as we need, sweetheart. Tomorrow, okay? You need to sleep." He leaned over to peck my forehead and then turned the night light off, wrapping me in his arms again.

I melted into the touch, feeling more safe and secure than ever, and closed my eyes, allowing myself to drift to sleep.
