"It looks uninhabited," Caspian said, looking through his telescope at the island before them. "But if the lords followed the mist east, they would have stopped here."
"Could be a trap," Drinian pointed out.
"Or it could hold some answers," Edmund countered. "Caspian?"
"We'll spend the night on shore," the king said. "Scour the island in the morning."
"Aye, your Majesty."

Alex climbed out of the boat and stepped onto the shore. She looked at Caspian as he got out of his boat.
"I'm going to do a quick search," she said. "Make sure there's nothing in the area."
Caspian nodded and Alex took off towards the small forest. She searched around, looking and listening for anything that could be in the area. A few times, she thought she heard low voices, but could never see anything around her. Eventually, she decided everything was alright and walked back to the camp.
As she stepped out of the trees, she saw Caspian look at her. She nodded, signalling that the area was safe. He nodded back and had the crew set up camp for the night. He tossed Alex her bedroll, which she set up by Lucy.
After a quick meal, the crew decided to turn in for the night. Alex smiled a little when she saw Lucy reading one of her books. The elf looked up at the sky for several minutes before closing her eyes and drifting off to sleep.

"This one," a voice said. "It's female."
Alex froze in her place, feeling a presence hovering over her. She was laying on her side at the moment, so she couldn't see who was above her.
"So's this one," another voice said.
"There's a third here."
Alex stretched a little and rolled onto her back.
"That one's awake!" one voice cried quietly.
"No she's not. Keep talking and she will be."
"Hey, chief. This one reads."
"Let's take her."
Alex's opened her eyes slightly, allowing her to get a view of what was going on around her. Her eyes widened when she saw Lucy suddenly rise off the ground. Alex quickly grabbed her sword and got to her feet.
"She was awake!" one of the voices said.
"Quick! Knock her out so we can get out of here."
Alex looked around her as Lucy squirmed in the air. She suddenly felt something hit her hard in the back of the head. She grunted at the force. She fell to the ground, dropping her sword by her side. Her vision blurred as she looked up. She saw Lucy floating away from her just before her vision went black.

Caspian woke up early the next morning. He stretched and slowly rose to his feet. He ran his hand through his hair, trying to rid it of any sand. The king suddenly froze. Lying a few feet away from him was Alex. She was on her side, one of her swords unsheathed and laying beside her. Caspian hurried to her side, kneel beside her.
"Alex," he whispered, shaking her. "Alex, wake up."
The elf groaned a little. She rolled over a little and slowly pushed herself up.
"Are you alright, Alex?" he asked quietly.
"I'll be fine," she replied. She opened her eyes and looked around. "Caspian, look." She pointed to a set of large footprints in the sand. Caspian stared. "Wake up the others. We need to move."
