Yuri Katsuki
Victor wasn't lying. The colony is hideous.
From the outside it looks like a huge dark juggernaut, engulfing too much with its shadow. It looks like a bully.
But then again it is run by bullies.
The inside is even worse. It's like a castle from many years of ago with stone floors and stone walls. Everything is black as JJ and I walk down a corridor to meet the Lord and Emperor that reside in this horrible place.
Light is a foreign concept in this building. I could see that just from those pictures I don't enjoy remembering but can't get out of my head.
"We're here. Ready to meet your almost father in law?" JJ grins sarcastically, knowing what I'm going to say before I even say it;
"Hell no" he wouldn't even be my father in law. Jewel would be. Kolya doesn't diserve to be called father by anyone.
"Fingers crossed then" he winks as if we're friends. No we are not. Just because we sat alone in a plane together for hours doesn't make us buddies. Not when JJ spent the whole flight looking like he wanted to grill and devour me.
When he opens the door I'm faced with a long black table in the centre of a virtually empty room; at that table sit two men, facing us.
One is Yakov, of course. He sits in his black hat, black trench coat and red dress shirt as if he's in his element.
And Kolya. The man next to him must be Kolya Nikiforov.
I didn't expect him to look this way. I expected an uglier version of Yakov.
Kolya is handsome by feature; he ticks all the boxes, he's tall, decently muscular, well dressed, has flawless skin, defined cheek bones and jaw, healthy onyx hair and stunningly orange cat eyes.
I don't find him handsome though. To me he's a Venus fly trap. He has pretty colours and is nice at a glance but as soon as you get too close he'll swallow you whole and you'll never see the light of day again.
This is the beauty of evil. There is no other way to interpret it.
"Yuri. Take a seat" Yakov cracks a smile like he would to an old friend, signaling one of the two chairs oposite them.
JJ has to push my back to get me to move. I'm too caught up with staring at Kolya, and apparently he's too caught up staring at me.
We both sit down and the moment quickly fills with tense scilence. I know the look on the Lords face, he's relishing in my smell. Whenever this happens the pupils of the vampire dilate and they become fixated. That's exactly what he's doing now.
And it makes my skin crawl to think that he might actually drink my blood at some point. I will be feeding the demon that prays on Victor.
"Have you both written your oaths?" JJ prompts, triggering Yakov to elbow Kolya who jolts back to life and takes two sheets of paper out of a black file that camuflajes well with the glossy table.
"Here they are. Feel free to read through them" His voice isn't what I expected eather. It's low and quiet, almost melodic. However that only reminds me of the tales of mermaids that swallowed up pirates after luring them with their sweet song.
