Victor Nikiforov

Praise my beautiful butler in black, he really knows how to get things done unlike any other.

Only four days did I have to wait before a glossy, new smelling British passport came to me. Now I can see my love.

As I sit in the train, tapping the tune of hooked on a feeling with my feet, I smile at the view outside the impressively clean window. Japan is beautiful, it's colours radiate life and health. A view that is so stunning it reminds me of my love, my love I can finally see face to face after all this time.

My airport transit goes just as smoothly as the train did. Well, maybe I'm just saying that because I'm too happy to be annoyed by long queues and taking my shoes off to go through a metal detector.

Even the flight itself feels like a roller coaster just before the dip, the anticipation of taking off is insane purely because I know what the destination is. I don't care if Yuri hates me, I can't wait to see him.

When the cab stops outside that annoyingly orange house I practically hurl money at the driver and throw myself and my hand luggage out of the car, dashing to the door and knocking the shit out of it like a child going to the house of their new best friend.

My dear aquaintance opens the door, hair in a neat man bun and dressed in a navy v-neck top and white jeans.

"Wha- Victor?" Valentinos eyebrows knit together but I grin back, seeing him means Yuri must be in too right?

"Hi! Is Yuri around?" I push past him and erratically scan the room for any signs of a Japanese sex god.

"No" Valentino somehow looks even more confused as he closes the door in an almost caucious manner, as if I might just explode.

"Did he go out with Chris? How is he?"My giddiness fails to dissipate while Valentino frowns harder.

"Listen Victor, Yuri left here weeks ago. I don't underst-"

"What?" My soul crawls out of me as the earth shatters beneath my feet.

This is not happening.

"He went back to Japan" my entire body goes lax as I stare at the Doctor in disbelief.

This is not happening.

"No he didn't"

"What?" Valentino starts to look as fearful as I feel. What the hell is going on?

Then the door opens again.

"Honey I'm..." When Chris looks up from his keys and locks eyes with me his smile falls off of his face,  "Fuck"

"Where is Yuri Chris?" My voice breaks as I give him a long and hard stare. His bright pink shirt and blue skinny jeans aren't enough to distract my eyes from his.

"He ah... he left this morning!" The man tries to smile but the flicker of it exposes all of his lies.

"Valentino said he left weeks ago"

"Babe!" Chris shows Valentino his offence and then both of us get a whiff of what he's been doing;

"Have you been lying to Victor?" He rests his hands on his hip and looks dissaprovingly at his guilty husband.

"He told me to!"

"And you didn't tell me? You have no right to be upset then!"

"Hold on Chris... are you saying Yuri told you to lie to me?" The room goes dead with scilence as we all reflect on my words.

"...Yes" my heart sinks at the word. With a huff I step over to the red sofa and fall heavily on it, looking down at my navy pants in shame.

"How could you do that Chris?" I sigh, propping my forehead on my fingers.

"After Valentino Yuri is the most important person to me. There's a lot I would do for him"

"I think the important question here is why did Yuri want you to cover for him?" My ears perk up at Valentinos question. It is a very important question.

"He didn't tell me"

What?

"What!?" Valentino and I exclaim, staring at him in absolute shock.

"He asked me to trust him. And I do. I was concerned about his safety but he repetedly told me he was fine"

"Chris, Yuri is not a liar in the great scheme of things but when it comes to his wellbeing he always lies." I turn to say to him. I know from too much expereance.

"Well I'm not going to apologize. I trust him so I didn't question him" he crosses his arms in defiance. Although it's annoying I do admire the loyalty.

"That's fair. Now we need to worry about where the fuck he actually is" I respond as slide to sit on the arm of the couch to see them better.

"I don't get it... I'm sure Yuri called from Japan. My phone bill said I had a call from there" Chris murmurs.

"So he was in Japan but he isn't now..."

"Did he go straight from here to Japan?" I ask.

"According to his plane ticket he did" Valentino nods confidently. It's progress but it makes me feel worse about all of this. If he's not where he's supposed to be where is he?

"What do we do now?" Chris asks the question on my mind.

"We call everybody who knows him"
