Chapter Two

Matt, wondering why his friend was taking so long, so he went inside. Finding that his friend was injured, Matt helped his mother take care of him.

After hours of unsuccessful progress, Colleen decided that she should probably take him to the doctor.

She loaded all three children in her minivan, putting Matt in the front, Shiro in the middle seat (to elevate his leg), and Katie, because she refused to sit next to Shiro, was in the far back seat.

The doctors office wasn't too far away, so getting some help wasn't too hard. Once in, they immediately decided to do some x-rays on him.

While Shiro was getting some x-rays, Colleen, Matt, and Katie sat in the waiting room out side. Really, the x-ray didn't take that long, but because Katie had nothing to do except stare at the wall. She felt like it was taking an eternity.

"Mom," Katie whined. "Why is it taking so long?!"

"It's only been two minutes." Colleen answered with an annoyed composure.

"Two minutes taken away from my life!"

"Oh, sure. You will be all grown up and married before he comes out!" Colleen said sarcastally.

"What?!" Katie freaked out. "I can't wait that long!"

"Nooo!" Matt said in a disappointed tone.

"You can't wait, too?" Colleen asked wondering if Matt also hated the wait.

"No, I'm fine. I can wait forever, but Katie can't get married before he comes out!"

"And why is that?" Colleen asked with a chuckle.

"Because, Katie has to marry Shiro, but she can't do that if he is still getting x-rays done."

Colleen bursted out laughing. "You're right." She joked.

Katie face grew red. "No! I hate him! Plus, he is way too old."

"He is like only three years older than you. Dad is like eight years older than mom." Matt said.

"Four. We are four years apart." Colleen corrected.

"Yeah," Matt said. "Mom and Dad are like four years apart, and four is bigger than three."

Katie folded her arms. "I'd rather wait here forever than marry Takashi!"

"Are you sure?" Matt asked. "You secretly like him, don't you. That's why you call him Takashi instead of Shiro."

"No! Never!" Katie yelled.

"Shh. Quiet down. We're not outside." Colleen said.

Katie slouched back in her seat. Boy did she want to leave. It was so boring and she didn't even care about Takashi. What was the point of staying?

She stared at the clock on the wall as it slowly ticked away the time. Every second had Katie grow more and more impatient.

But after maybe five minutes, Shiro can out. His arm was around a nurse's shoulder as she helped him walk out.

"Wait out here for a little bit longer and we will have the results to you shortly." The nurse said as she placed Shiro into a seat next to Katie.

Katie moved to another seat.

"Okay!" Colleen replied. The nurse went back to the x-ray room as she left them in the waiting room.

"Mom!" Katie said excitedly. "You were wrong! I'm not married yet!"

Colleen chuckle as Shiro said "What the heck were you guys talking about?"

"Katie was growing impatient." Colleen answered.

"I was in there for maybe five minutes." Shiro added.

"Five whole, boring, long, uneventful, felt like I was going to die, bleak, cold, dark minutes!" Katie exaggerated. "And my mom said I would get married before you came out! But I didn't!"

"I was joking." Colleen added.

"What?!" Matt exclaimed. "I thought you were being serious!"

"Of course you did." Shiro sighed.

The result came back and Shiro broke his leg. Luckily, it wasn't too big, so he only had to have a cast on it for six weeks.

Nevertheless, he still had to wear a cast causing most of his daily activities would become more difficult. Luckily, he was a pilot at the Garrisons, so his leg wouldn't effect him in that way. But Iverson was sure to let him know, that if you break your leg, arm, or any bone before a mission in the future, your substitute would take your place in the mission. Your bones don't heal correctly in space, so you stay on earth.

I want to adopt child Matt! He is so precious and cute!

Sadly, his future isn't as bright.
