"You know, I wish I was Takashi!" Katie grunted as she folded her arms. Her brother was listening to her rant on the way home on the bus. Honestly there was nothing else from him to do. "It's January 18th, and he still is on winter break probably having fun with his parents in Arizona! The Garrisons don't even go back to school until the 21th!"

"Yeah..." He sighed. Honestly, he was only half paying attention.

"And what do us forth graders get? A semester that starts January freaking 6th." Katie ranted.

"Watch your language!" Matt scolded her.

"Freaking is not a bad word." Katie commented. "A bad word is F--"

Matt covered her mouth and said "That doesn't give you the right to say it!"

"Whatever." Katie paused. "I'm still not happy with Takashi's schedule."

"You know." Matt said. "Shiro has to wait longer for summer break."

"Really?" Katie asked.

"Yeah, we get out for summer before him."

"I guess that's a fair trade."

Than the bus stopped at their house. Katie and Matt grabbed their backpacks and walked off the bus, only to be signaled by their mother to get into the minivan.

"Where are we going?" Matt asked.

"And why is it so urgent?" Katie added.

---

"Here you go!" The lady at the front desk of the eye doctor said as she handed both Katie and Matt their glasses.

Matt had chosen a simple gray circle wired glasses, while Katie had received ones tinted a light purple.

As they put on the glasses, the twins were amazed on the world around them. Katie looked at her brother and gasped.

"Why is the world so much more clearer?" Katie said as she petted her brother's hair and face. Than she gasped again when she noticed her brothers freckles. "You have freckles!" She exclaimed.

Matt looked at her than said, "You do, too!" He than focused his attention to her hair as he stoked it. "And you hair is not only soft, but it has individual strains!"

"Really?!" She said as she eagerly pulled her hair into view. "It does!"

Matt than looked at his mother. "Why does everything look so much cooler?"

His mother giggled. "That's because you can actually see correctly, now."

"Wow!" Katie said as she looked around the room.

"But we need to leave now, because we have to pick up Shiro from the airport." Colleen informed her children.

---

Colleen, Matt, and Katie were in the lobby of the airport waiting for Shiro. Colleen was talking to her husband, Samuel, who was currently in space, but hadn't let the astroid belt so they could still chat from now and then.

Matt and Katie, though, were looking at everything around the airport, gawking at all the intricate designs on the walls and ceiling.

"Hey," Matt spoke up. "You wanna make a bet?"

"Sure." Katie answered. "What do you want to bet on?"

"I bet you that Shiro looks hotter with your glasses."

"He won't!" Katie exclaimed.

"Well, if he does," Matt thought for a minute, "Than you owe me the nickel you found on the floor today at school."

"And if he doesn't, because he won't," Katie replied. "than you owe me the cool pencil you got from the rewards bucket the other day!"

Matt stuck out his hand as Katie shook it. "Deal." They said in unison.

---

They probably waited for thirty minutes before the plane actually landed. For some reason, the flight was delayed. But it landed nonetheless.

In the mist of a crowd, there Shiro was walking out and into the lobby.

Katie's jaw dropped. With her glasses, he was a totally different person.

Matt ran to his friend. He embraced him as he asked, "How was it?"

"It was cool seeing my parents again." Shiro answered. "But I can see you and Katie have glasses now."

"Yeah, we went to the eye doctor and they sent us glasses. We actually got them today."

"That's awesome!" Shiro answered. "But do you think you could help me with my luggage?"

"Sure!" Matt answered as he grabbed Shiro's small crarry-a-long bag.

Once they retrieved Shiro's luggage, they loaded it up in the back of the Minivan. Shiro and Matt sat in the middle seat as they talked all about their expiriences during winter break, as Katie sat in shot gun.

Probably about halfway home, Matt noticed something hard in his pocket. He reached in and pulled it out. In his hand he saw the nickel Katie found at school that day. He just smiled as he put it back into his pocket.
