August 11th, 2031. The day Katie feared. First day of sixth grade. The first day of middle school. The first day of what most people called, Hell.

But unlike some kids, she only had to endure one year of Albano Middle School. Seventh grade, if she scores high on the entry exam, she can go to the Garrisons and leave the Albano School District.

Sadly, she was still one year too young to go. At least, for now.

She held on to her backpack as she recalled just the last school year fifth grade.

Honestly, it was very uneventful. The school wanted you to get used to more than one teacher, so you had one teacher per major subject, and well, one main class that you have lunch with and go to elective classes, such as Music and PE.

Matt was in her main class with her, but his other classes were different. It wasn't too bad. For fourth grade they didn't even have recess together. But their two class did share a PE hour.

Anyways, when she though that fourth grade was stupid, boring, and anoying, fifth grade was worse. Since there was no personalized class sceduals, she was learning at the pace of the slowing kid in the grade. It made her practically go insane.

But this year, people said that if you're smart enough, they can put you in advance classes, and she was kind of looking forward to that. But than again, she doesn't know what to expect because Mr. Loweham did say fifth grade was going to be much harder than fourth, and he couldn't have been more wrong.

Anyways, the bus approached the school and had came to a stop releasing the kids to their school. Katie got up straightened the ichy polo shirt the middle school required and walked off the bus with all the other kids.

She walked up to the new building and gulped as she entered with fear. Matt was in none of her classes this year, and she had practically no friends other than him. Well, there was Tyler, but she hadn't seen him all summer. She had no idea what classes he was taking.

She walked into the school and in the main hallway. It was much bigger than her elementary school, and it made her feel like the small bean she was. Not to mention the large eighth graders walking in halls. They toward over her.

Than one girl, obviously from eighth grade, said her and asked, "Hey, I think you came off a stop early. The elementary school is still a bit down the street. You might want to inform your bus driver before they take off."

This made Katie furious. She just left the elementary, and she was NOT going back. "What grade do you think I am?" Katie asked in a little of a angered tone.

"Third." The girl answered.

Katie took a deep breath and let it all out. She than looked at the girl and gave her a smile. "Well, I'm a sixth grader, but if you could direct me to my hall that would be nice. I'm a little lost."

"Oh sorry about that." The eighth grader apologized. She pointed to a specific hallway and said, "That's the seventh grade hallway, but if you go to the end, and take a right, you will reach your hallway."

"Thank you!" Katie smiled as she walked to her hallway. She than mumbled under her breath, "It's okay. Stay positive. You're just a little bit shorter than most people. It wasn't an insult, she was just genuinely concerned."

Once she entered her hallway as she looked at her schedule and read her first class. English. Oh great, she has to start her day every day for nine months in the worst class in existence. She than looked across the paper and read the teacher, Ms. Jensen.

Than looking up above the door, she saw the displayed teacher names, and she walked down the hall until she reached the room where she saw the teacher's name above.

She dreadfully walked into this bright and colorful room. She was than greeted by a fairly young teacher with curly brow hair. Her skin tone wasn't exactly pure black, but deffinately darker than normal. She had large black glasses and and simple blue dress.

"You must be Katie Holt!" Ms. Jensen beamed. "Samuel Holt's daughter?"

"Yeah." Katie sighed as she fake smiled. "That's me."

She than shook Katie's and said, "Well nice to meet you! I'm Ms. Jensen, your new english teacher!"

She was so bright and colorful it almost made Katie sick. How could someone be so excited for school?

"Well, Katie, here we have assigned seats. It helps me remember your names. Anyways, your seat in the middle of the room. Just look at the desk. It should have your name."

"Okay." She said as she walked around the desks to find hers. Ms. Jensen was right, each desk had a note card taped to it, and it clearly stated who sat where in what hour, for all seven hours of the day.

She sat down at the desk that had her name under the first hour slot. She looked a little closer at the note cards, and noticed that each were slightly decorated with tiny stars.

Gazing around the classroom, she notice that all the decorations were vaguely space themed. Wasn't she an English teacher?

Not too long later, another girl entered the room, and just like Katie, was greeted by the teacher. She was blonde with hazel eyes. Her hair was French braided into a pony tail that dangled almost to her feet.

If Katie was to guess the girl's name, it would probably have to be Repunzel, but than again, what parent would do that to their child?

The girl walked over and sat at a seat right next to hers. Out of curiosity, Katie gazed at the name tag to find out Repunzel's actual name. It read: Hannah Meyers.

Ehh, Repunzel sounded better.

She than looked at Repunzel's stuff as she unpacked her back pack. Everything was super neat and organized, and not to mention labelled. Maybe she was just worried that she would loose something.

Repunzel than started to notice Katie staring at her. "Do you have a problem?" She asked in a very sweet tone.

"Oh no!" Katie corrected. "I was just bored. Sorry for staring. I hope I didn't come off rude."

"Good." She smiled. "Well, my name is Hannah." She than held out her hand.

"Katie." Katie said as she shook her hand. "Nice to meet you."

Repunzel seemed like a nice person, but honestly, Katie didn't want to be friends with her. She just kind of seems too happy, and organized.

Katie than looked to see that most of the seet her full in the class, but when she spacifically looked at the people in the front desks, she noticed someone. Tyler.

She was kind of happy that she wasn't going to be completely alone this year.

***

I know I said a while ago that I would be able to update more when summer comes, but from the sights of it, I'm not going to be able to update more than once a week because of how busy I am. I know that is way slower than during the school year, but life happens.

Sorry about that.
