Garret was driving in his truck as he heading down a dirt road in the woods when his phone started to ring. He let out a sigh as he grabbed his phone. He quickly glanced at the caller ID as he realized it was his wife. He answered the phone as he still kept a focus on the road. "Hey Lindsey." He smiled as he kept a smile on his face, trying to stay happy. You never should get mad at your wife, even if you were in a fight earlier.
"Garret? Where are you?" She asked.
"I'm heading home. Don't worry. I had to stay an hour overtime." He answered.
"Overtime!? Of all days, I asked you to insist them not to keep you overtime today! Tomorrow would've been better!" She exclaimed.
"Lindsey, please. I'm coming home. Please don't get mad at me, but what's so important today?"
"It's January 27th!"
"And..." He still seemed confused.
"Gosh dang it, Garret! Today is your son's birthday!" She exclaimed now furious.
"Okay! Okay! I'm coming home as fast as I can." Garret tried to calm his wife down. That's when he saw something in the distance. He couldn't tell, because of his speed, what exactly was going on but had the feeling to stop the car.
He immediately pulled over as he said, "I need to go, Lindsey, I'll talk to you later." He quickly ended the call as he set his phone down in the car and headed out. He was running to the scene. Something felt a mist. Ran through the wood as he saw some foxes. They were eating or about to eat, but he had this feeling to shew them away.
"Scam!" He yelled as ran to them acting fierce. The foxes fled as there laid a little girl. His eyes widened. She had medium length brown brown hair and looked no taller then a fourth grader. Some of her clothes were torn as the girl had scratches and cuts everywhere. She was bleeding severely. Not to mention the foxes bit into her side making it worse.
Garret quickly placed his hand under her nose and felt breathing. She was still alive. He took off his jacket as he wrapped it around her side to stop some of the bleeding. He then noticed a pencil in her pocket. "Hannah." It read. He looked at the girl as he said, "It's okay Hannah, I'm going to get you help." She was unconscious, but he said it anyways. He picket up the little girl as he headed back to his truck as fast as he could.
He placed her in shot gun and buckled her up, then hopped back in driver's seat. He started to car as he headed towards the nearest hospital that he knew of, Pines City Children's Hospital. He picked up his phone as he dialed 911.
The operator answered. "911, what's your emergency?"
"I have a little girl." He quickly replied. "I found her in the woods being attacked by foxes. She unconscious and bleeding. Send an ambulance, now." He impeded.
"Where are you, sir?" They asked.
"Heading up Clements street, near the outskirts of Albano." He answered.
"We're on our way."
The call ended as he continued to head up the road as fast as he could. That's when the girl groaned. Her eyes started to slowly open. She looked at Garret then at her hands.
Garret saw this and said, "Don't worry, Hannah. We're getting you help." He tried to stay calm, but it was extremely difficult.
The girl then went limp and fell unconscious again.
