"No."

"Babe, please? They finally cleared me to wrestle, I want to do this."

"No."

He sighed and gave me an angry look, "Come on, we've been working so hard to get me back in the ring, and the minute I do, you don't want me to go?"

"Roman, I said no, and I'm not changing my mind about it, so unless you want to continue to hear me say no, I suggest you drop it."

"Babe--"

"I'm not talking about this anymore."

I handed him back his drink that I had taken a sip from and went back over to my friends who had all come over to Ada's for a small get-together. Yeah, we just had a small argument, but I stopped it before either of us could get too mad and explode in front of everyone.

Why would he want to leave us for that long? He was a wrestler, and I dealt with his different and unmanageable schedule as much as I could, but it got harder after I had London.

Even though it's against everything I want, he's going to be gone an entire week starting next week and I haven't even wrapped my head around that yet, but he's going whether I like it or not. He was busting his butt to get to the international tour, which started two days after he was done with his week overseas...that just wasn't about to happen. I wasn't about to let him be gone for almost an entire month.

He was dying to go because he had been injured. Being a wrestler, injury came with the job, but the injury he had, had him sitting out for almost a year. I wouldn't lie and say I didn't like it that he was home for that long, because It was great having him there with London and I, but he was jumping at every opportunity to leave now a days.

"Hey, you alright?"

I guess I started daydreaming because the next thing I knew, Ada was snapping her fingers in front of my face. "Huh? Yeah, I'm good."

"What are you thinking about?"

"Uh, nothing, just thinking about London."

"She's at your mom's house if you want to see her." she joked, "Do you want to go out with us to eat? Ronny wants some Chinese, but I say Italian."

Ronny was one of the teachers at our school we used to teach at. I always thought about going back to teaching, but Roman and I agreed on me staying at home with London. It always bothered me that we always had to compromise when it came to my job or what I wanted, but anything that had to do with him was a battle. I always won the battles, but he always ended up winning the wars, which was always weird.

"Dude, you're daydreaming again, what's wrong?"

"Nothing, stop asking."

"No, you're going to tell me, and you're going to tell me now or I'm going to punch you in the stomach."

Was she threatening me? Either way, I wasn't going to risk it, "Roman wants to go on the international tour."

"And you're mad about that? He's been out for ten months, sue him for wanting to get back into the ring as much as he can."

"If he goes on the international tour, Ada, he'll be gone for three weeks straight and I'm not letting that happen. He's going to be gone all next week so he can be over in Australia, and now he wants to go all over Europe for two weeks."

"He's going to Australia? Dean never mentioned him going to Australia."

"We just decided he was going last night. He's never been away from home for more than a week a half since we had London, and that was way too long. I can't deal with him being gone longer than that when I almost went crazy the first time."

"It's honestly not that bad, Chase. When they make them work nonstop like that, they always get time off after."

"Oh, great, I get three days with my husband that was gone for three weeks!" that statement was full of sarcasm.

"All I'm saying is--"

"Look, Ada, you and Dean have this great relationship, your son is gorgeous, and you're living the life every family wants, but everyone's lives don't work like that. Other people have actual problems, and just because you're okay with being away from your husband for a month, doesn't mean I am, so if would kindly shut up and stop talking to me like I'm five, I'd greatly appreciate it."

She stared at me for a while, sort of like she was in shock that I had said what I said, but I meant every word and I wasn't going to take it back.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you mad."

"It's not you, it's my idiot husband who jumps at any chance to leave us at home...I'm just so done with the wrestling business...I'm done."

Ronny had no clue what we were talking about, but she nodded like she understood. She was one of the only people Ada and I let into our circle when we taught, so she was still a close friend to the both of us.

"Hey, babe," Dean came up behind Ada and kissed her cheek, "the guys and I were thinking we could go out and have some drinks, you okay with that?"

"Where are you going?"

"To Mel's right down the street, nothing big and fancy, it's just drinks with the guys."

"Alright, go have fun, I love you, be safe."

"Thanks, I love you more, and I will always be safe." she smiled and turned around to kiss him. Ronny looked disgusted, but I was used to it, unfortunately.

"That was really sweet of you to say, Deany, what's gotten into you?"

"Nothing, I just love you."

"Dean, seriously? Can you not make me throw up?" I teased.

"You wish Roman was in here doing this."

"No, I actually don't. I'd rather him be sincere and show how much he loves me rather than say it."

He stuck his tongue out at me and kissed his wife one last time before leaving the kitchen. Ada punched my arm, and I punched her right back, and then it just turned into a hitting war. Roman came in the kitchen and went behind my chair and rested his chin on my head.

"Hey, babe."

"Go ahead, I don't care, have fun." I punched Ada one last time because I wasn't going to let her be the one with the last punch.

"That's not all I came in here for, babe."

I rolled my eyes and turned around to face him, "Oh, really? What else did you want?"

"I wanted to tell you I love you."

"Sucking up isn't really helping your case. Sucking up doesn't really mean anything to me because no matter how much you suck up, you're not going to Europe, and I already said you could go to Mel's, so sucking up isn't necessary...not that you'd listen to me anyway."

"What are you talking about?"

"You never listen to me or respect my opinion. You do what you want to do whether I want you to or not. Why do you even ask me stuff? What's the point of asking a question you already know the answer to?"

"I don't have all the answers, Chase, I ask you because I want your opinion."

"How did it work out for you the last time you asked for my 'opinion'? You ended up telling me you were going to be gone all next week, so stop asking for my opinion when you obviously don't want it."

He stared at me. What was with people staring at me today? I hate arguing with him, I really did, but I wanted him to know exactly what he was doing. He had such double-standards.

"Uh, so, uh, we'll be back later and we'll stay here or go home...whichever one you want."

"Okay."

He sighed and grabbed my head and kissed my forehead. "I love you, see you later."

"Love you too...be safe."

"I will."
