Sick Day

Hailey's age:9 months old
    Phil walked into the lounge holding Hailey in his arms.
"Philly what's wrong?" Dan asked when he saw Phils concerned face.
"She's sick Dan. She has a fever and everything!" Phil explained. Dan knew how heartbroken Phil gets when Hailey has a little bump in her life. Phil honestly loved her.
"Phil did you give her the medicine we have in the cupboard just for her?" Dan asked while taking Hailey from Phil. Hailey looked misreble. She had tiny beads of sweat on her forehead. She whimpered softly.
"Dan it's did, it's not working."
"When did you give it to her?"
"Just five minutes ago."
Dan facepalmed.
"Phil it's gonna take a bit to do its magic. Just calm down. Go get some of her stuff animals." Dan explained to Phil who hurriedly did as told. Dan rolled his eyes then looked at his daughter.
"Dadda," she whined. Dan frowned at her. She sounded awful. Her sweet baby vocie sounded slightly raspy. Phil came in with stuff animals, blankets and pillows.
"Dan watch Im'ma make her a fortress!" Phil shouted. Hailey giggled at her crazy dad trying to build something out of blankets. Dan smiled at the both of them. He thought Hailey would be scared to death from Phils worried actions....instead it made her laugh.
   After the fortress was made, Dan, Phil, and Hailey lay in the fort. Hailey snuggled between them. Dan and Phil tried to be as soothing as possible. Soon Hailey was asleep.
"Dan why didn't you panic?"
"Because of knew you would."
"Is that a bad thing?"
"Phil you made her laugh. She loved watching you freak out. Surprisingly."
Phil smiled at Dan's comment.
    Dan picked up Hailey while Phil was told to tear down the fort. Phil didn't want to destroy it though. He worked so freaking hard, and now he had to tear it apart. Dan came back and stood at the lounge entrance. Phil muttering to himself how it was unfair.
"Phil sit down."
"Dan-"
"Phil I'm not gonna make you destroy it. Yet."
"Yay!!!!" Phil cheered his voice lowering as he remembered Hailey was sleeping. He hugged Dan.
"Dan you're the best."
"You're the best dad Phil. Don't forget that."
