I'm Gonna Miss This

Haileys age:3 weeks old

Dan lied in bed next to Phil, dreaming half asleep. He hasnt slept the same since Hailey was born. He couldn't sleep deep enough since every two minutes, she was up crying and needed his attention. He loved her dearly and didnt mind, but man was sleep deprivation tiring.

Then Hailey started crying. Last night Phil got up with her, so it was Dan's turn. Phil rolled over and grunted in his sleep.
"Dan...the baby..." Phil murmured in his sleepy, dazed state.
"I know, I know." Dan said groggily, getting up to handle the baby. He left the monitor there and went into the nursery.

There he saw his daughter, who was turning red from her own screaming.

"Ah it's ok. Let's go make a bottle shall we?" Dan said picking up his angel. She screamed in his arms.
Dan stared at her for a moment.
"We need to put you in our room for now dont we. I feel like we miss so much with you in here." Dan said. He walked with her into the kitchen and began making up a bottle. He finished making the bottle and while feeding her walked back to the nursery.

She layed in his arms, eating contently. Dan began murmuring 5o her.
"Ah I have never been more tired in my life...but this wont last...you'll grow up and move out, and I'll never get that back." Dan said.

His words had woken up Phil, who listened on the baby monitor.

He heard Dan talking to their daughter. Tears left his eyes as he realized how short this time in her life would be.

Phil got up and walked into the nursery to see Dan holding Hailey, crying quietly.

"Dan you ok?" Phil asked softly.
"We need a bassinet for our room....I want her to be with us as long as possible. Phil I'm already seeing her go off to college and university." Dan replied in between his sobs.

Phil came over and kissed Dan and his daughter on the forehead.

"Agreed. I miss this stage already. I love her so much..."

A/N ah a shorter one but I hoped you liked the flashback one. I missed writing about Hailey as a baby and even though it was short I enjoyed writing it.
This year has been rough for me personally and the best year all at once. It hasnt been easy that's for sure, but I'm working on getting back on a schedule for this. I hope you guys stick around and for those that have, I appreciate you guys greatly and cant wait to see you in my next update.
