Ice Cream and Tissues

Hailey's age: 27
Twins age: 13
Jackson's age:3

Winnie came home and slammed the door. Dan and Phil layed on the couch while their grandson watched T.V.
They looked at each other as Winnie kept her head down.
"Winnie you alright?" Phil asked.

Winnie shook her head.
"I just want to be left alone." Winnie cried and stormed off to her room.

Phil looked at Dan.
"You want to do it or should I?"
"I'll get the icecream, you get the blankets and tissues." Dan said getting up.

Jackson giggled on the floor.
"Papapapaa!" Jackson shrieked on the floor.
Phil walked to him and put him on his hip.
"Hi my silly little guy." Phil smiled and ticked Jacksons sides.

Then Hailey came inside.
"Papa where is Winnie?" Hailey asked putting her bags down on the floor beside the couch.
"Her room. why? Do you know why she is upset?" Phil asked. Jackson clung to his side.
"Ok. Look she called me. Bethany is moving away in a couple of days. She just told Winnie. Winnie isn't taking it well."

Phil's heart fell. Bethany is the sweetest girl Phil has known besides his own children. Bethany was so thoughtful and sweet. How could this happen?

"Her dad is being relocated. I need to see Winnie. Bethany reached out to me to make sure I didnt let her isolate herself and that I help her through this."
"Shes upstairs. Just go check on her. I cant believe this."
"I know. Sometimes life doesnt work out the way you thought it would. "

Winnie lied on her bed sobbing. Dan kept knocking on the door, but it was locked. He couldn't get in.

Then her phone rang. It was Bethany. Winnie heart sank to the flooor.She answered soldemly.
"Hi." Winnie said softly.
"Winnie, I know you're hurting, we'll be ok. We'll be ok because I'm maki ng sure I'm not going anywhere. I cant live without you. I'll make more dates, I'll do anything."

Winnie stopped crying. She sniffles and brushed the hair out of her eyes, now soaked by her tears.

"Ok. I love you."
"I love you too." Bethany replied. Winnie smiled at her phone as Hailey unlocked the door. She picked it with her bobby pins.
"Winnie,it's ok. I got you." Hailey said. she brushed Winnies hair back.
"Its going to work. It has too."

Dan stood at the door holding a tub of icecream.
"Want to drown your feelings in sugar ?" He asked softly.

Winnie smiled and nodded.

She had all the comfort that she needed.
"I cant live without you guys to build me back up."
"Here, let's dry your eyes and watch your favorite shows. Ok?" Hailey asked holding out her hand.
"Ok."

Winnie smiled and took her hand which provided all the comfort and security she needed.

A/N hey it's been a while but my life has been a little crazy. So sorry about that. I cant wait to update more regularly and as I do, I'm going to be deleting old updates on here that isnt a oneshot that doesn't need to be up anymore.
