You Should Leave

Hailey sat in her two bedroom apartment, her head pounding. Hailey had a massive headache and wasn't feeling well. Jackson was playing with his toys on the floor.

That's what she couldn't understand. Her son is literally perfect and the minute her fiance found out about the pregnancy, he packed up and left. It killed Hailey everyday that one say she would need to explain to her son why his father left him, and she honestly didn't want that day to come.

She was happy with the way things are now. She liked it just being them two and how all of the special moments were all hers. His first word was momma. She wouldn't change that for anything.

The doorbell rang. Hailey got up, and began walking downstairs. She didn't see Jackson get up and follow her to the front door.

There in the flesh was Jackson's father.
"What are you doing here?" Hailey asked. Jackson stood in the corner, not seen yet.
"I came to see my son. Where is the little guy?" He asked.

That's what appalled Hailey. He didn't even know he did anything wrong. He was heartless.
"Go die, you are a piece of crap and my kid doesn't deserve you. You didn't want to be involved so you're not. Years ago you tried to get custody and then moved across the country. "
"Just let him choose." He said.
"No I'm his mother and that isn't because I have birth to him, it's because I'm actually raising him. I get to decide because he is 3. Now you need to leave."

He grabbed her wrist as she went to shut the door. Hailey wanted to cry. She just saw Jackson out of the corner of her eye, standing there watching with tears in his eyes.
"Let me go." Hailey demanded.
He shook his head.
"Let me see him."
"You should leave now before I call the police. "

He barged his way in.
"Baby." He said to Jackson.

Jackson ran to Hailey and his behind her leg.
"Jackson don't you wanna see daddy?"
Jackson shook his head.
"There the kid chose. And I am calling the police. "

Hailey dialed 911. Her hands were shaking as she explained the situation. Before you knew it cops were at her door.
"Ma'am, I'm detective Connor, you and your kid alright?" He asked as her ex was escorted out of her home.
"Yeah. Can I get a restraining order or something?" She asked.
"We can start the paperwork."

Jackson was still clinging to Hailey. Hailey picked up her son and held him close.
Then she saw Dan was calling.
"Hey dad." She replied.
"There is police outside your home. You and Jackson ok?"
"Yeah we are ok. Umm. Can I come over. We can talk more." Hailey asked.
"You can always come over."

Hailey put Jackson in the car and began to drive as the police all left her house. She arrived at her father's house and she looked at her son who was falling asleep.
"I love you." ...
