A/N OK I see this prompt like everywhere so yeah. Here people's. It does talk about periods so if that grossses you put then just don't read this.

Hailey's age:13

Hailey cried into her hands. She didn't know what to do. She felt like she was dying, of a disease.

She had ruined her second pair of underwear that day.

She ran into her room and got on her laptop.
Blood appearing in underwear. What is it?
She saw the screen read.
Period.
Periods.
How to tell when you got your period.
Hailey freaked out shutting her laptop.

She started puberty a while ago, and Dan and Phil did thier best to educate her. They also tried not to make it akward, but they used terminology, like menstruation.

Hailey didn't want to know what a period was, but she knew whatever that illness was, she had it.

Dan and Phil came home later to find a sobbing Hailey on the couch. Dan dropped his keys and bags of groceries and ran to her side. Phil joined him as they hugged.
"Hailey what's wrong?"
Phil asked her worriedly. Hailey never cried, so Dan and Phil were in full on panic.
"I'm dying..."
Dan rolled his eyes.
It's just an existential crisis
"Hailey death is inevitable-"
"No Dad, I'm dying. Of a disease. You guys don't even care!"
Hailey stood up and ran to her room still sobbing.

They knew something was wrong. Then Phil pointed to the couch.
"Uh, Dan.."
There was a red stain where Hailey was sitting.
"Phil, I think Hailey got her period."
"Dan I'll talk to her, can you clean this?"
"Yeah, I learned as soon as she started puberty."

Phil knocked on Hailey's door.
"Go away. I don't want you to see my death."
"Hailey, please you're ok. I promise. Please let me in."
Hailey opened the door, sniffling.
"What do you mean. I'm dying of this disease."
"Hailey did you google, your symptoms?"
Hailey nodded.
"Well what did it say?"
"It said stuff about periods. I knew it was a disease!"
Phil began chuckling.
"What is so funny!?"
"Hailey do you know what a period is?"
"...no...I didn't look at the articles."
"Hailey that is menstruation."
Hailey froze. She knew what menstruation was. Someone could of told her that.
"So I'm not dying. Why didn't you tell me that!"
"Because...well...I'm not sure. I'm sure we didn't expect this to happen."
"What am I gonna do?"
"Hailey I'm gonna go out and buy you some pads, and Dan is gonna help you get the stains out. Don't worry everything is gonna be fine."

Deep down, Phil was freaking out, but he knew he had to stay calm. Hailey needed him to be calm.
"Ok papa."
Hailey gave him a hug, resting her head in the crook of his neck. It felt nice to be needed.

Phil left to go get pads, and Dan helped Hailey clean up. When Phil returned he gave them to her. After the ordeal, they all were exhausted.

Hailey came out of her room later, fidgeting with her hands.
"Hailey come, watch a movie with us."
Hailey sat next to Dan, and buried her face in his shirt. Phil 'awwed' in the cuteness.

One Hailey's breath steadied, Dan looked at Phil.
"You are a miracle worker."
"Please I was freaking out. She just didn't know that."
"You are an amazing dad."
"So are you."

Phil leaned on Dan shoulder and he too fell asleep, leaving Dan to be the one to put them in thier beds.
