In this tag you are to list several of your characters, their strengths and then their weaknesses, showing how they balance out to create a well-rounded and relatable personality. You will enjoy discovering more about your own characters.
Fred Thorne
Strengths: He is tender-hearted and empathetic, letting him easily relate to others and comfort them. He is rarely angry, having a calm and even temper. His sense of duty is strong, and he will do what he knows to be right regardless of what pain it costs him. He has a keen appreciation for beauty.Weaknesses: Decision making does not come easy to him, particularly because he worries he will make the wrong choice. He also feels emotions strongly, but because of his quiet nature expresses them little: he does not think of unburdening himself to another, and in the case of such feelings of fear or guilt, they may increase until they consume him. His anger, at the rare times it comes, may take such possession of him that he forgets himself utterly and cannot think with reason. At times, in his struggle to make a sacrifice for another, he may overlook a simple fact that would make the sacrifice unnecessary.
Mordred Kenhelm
Strengths: He has strong intelligence and a retentive mind for information, as well as a quick wit and humour. His sense of compassion is very strong towards those who seem younger and/or weaker than himself, a result of seeing his younger brother mocked and mistreated during their childhood. While no expert with most weapons, he is a fair shot with a bow and can defend himself at need.Weaknesses: His personality has a very strong bent of pride; the first impression he gives to people is generally of a handsome and arrogant young man. His situation in life of comparative poverty makes him all the prouder in it, and he would be the first to scorn "charity gifts". He thinks it is amusing to infuriate an enemy when he is helpless at the enemy's hands, and being good at this manages to take away the sense of victory. In this way he tends to make very dangerous enemies. His resentment is easily created and long-lasting, only growing hotter with time if steps are not taken to remedy it. He has great difficulty in seeing the "other side" of an issue.
Berethar of Mycraí
Strengths: He has an unbelievably strong will, possessing the capability to drive himself beyond his own suffering as long as he can still reach his goal. Paired with this he has a peculiar sense of compassion, which can surface in the oddest of places, even directed towards his tormentors. His mind is logical, easily picking out the error in any flawed argument, and can argue himself with great skill and persuasiveness when he so chooses. In a crisis he can remain calm and in control. While a fair hand at other weapons, his prowess with the sword is incredible. His loyalty when created is implacable.Weaknesses: His anger is fierce and dangerous; when his temper is sparked he is wont to respond physically, possibly even doing another harm before he can stop himself. He wants to do everything on his own and does not like accepting help. Because of his withdrawn nature, he can be awkward at a gathering and does not like attending social events. If forced into a company of others for too long, he may become broody and short-tempered. He does not trust easily. He has suffered things in his life which cause him great inner trial, and there are few people in his life whom he can look to for true comfort; when they are not around he grows grim and difficult to get along with. His strong will can be his enemy, as when he sticks pigheadedly to a stupid idea and defends it with all his reasoning skills.
Jedediah Crayes
Strengths: Almost unsurpassed swordsman (exception possibly being Berethar). Excellent tracking skills, knife skills; agile, quick-witted, and blindingly intelligent. Calm in dangerous situations. Is rarely angry for a long time. Fiercely protective of his friends -ER- acquaintances... Likes to chat.Weaknesses: Enormous vanity. Acts above everyone else. He may leave people far behind while trying to explain something to them. Is a terrible teacher. Temper explodes without warning and on very slight provocation. Finds it difficult to admit his affection for anybody. While he can be serious at need, his attitude is generally casual and arrogant and he is often rude and undiplomatic, making things difficult when the time comes to be diplomatic. Is not good at being subtle when trying to figure out what is bothering a friend.
Sandy Thorne (sister to Fred)
Strengths: Her personality is witty and optimistic; her sense of humour can lighten a dreary situation. She is determined and goal-oriented, and will strive to accomplish something if she wants it. She is honest and will not soften the truth for anyone.Weaknesses: She likes attention and affection directed toward her, and is jealous if she feels someone else is getting it. Her wit can make her sharp-tongued and unkind, and her honesty can quickly become outspokenness or gossip. Her temper is easily rubbed by little things, and she is impatient. She does not empathize easily.
