Just having fun. Not my... er... usual writing. Please do not judge my abilities on the work below; it is truly shameful.

Ariliea came to her special place and gazed out over her beautiful homeland. The exquisite melian flowers cascaded voluminously over the plains, and the scintillating desert glowed voluptuously in the western hemisphere. There was just beautiful forests and lakes everywhere, and Ariliea loved it.

She had come to her special place to look out over her beautiful homeland. She did this a lot, especially to get away from her mother, who was always pestering her to be a lady. And her annoying younger sister, who was already a "perfect" lady. I don't want to be a lady! Ariliea thought furiously. Why can't she just leave me alone? I hate her! My mother thinks she can just rule my life! Why do the parents have to choose the girl's husband anyway? She knew the answer.

"What a question, my dear child!" Ariliea could hear her mother saying superciliously. She hated the nickname "dear child"! Why did her mother have to call her that? She hated it! "It is the custom, it has always been the custom. We do not question the customs."

But why don't we? Ariliea wondered sadly, gazing with her beautiful and captivating blue eyes into the sun.

Ariliea had been banished from the capital because she could use Magik. Magik had been forbidden in the world by the High Priest of the City ever since some obscure event had indicated that Magik users should be persecuted.

It was terrible to be persecuted for using Magik. Sometimes Ariliea lay awake at night and had nightmares about it.

Ariliea could see the Great Sea. No-one ever crossed the Great Sea. When Ariliea had asked her father why, he stared at her and said, "It is the Great Sea. We cannot cross it because no-one has ever crossed it."

Ariliea got up and started to walk back home. She was a beautiful girl with long, flowing black hair. No-one in the land of Darialita had black hair, and so Ariliea was shunned because she had it. It was because she was part Elffe.

Ariliea got to her house and went inside.

"Ariliea!" Her mom yelled.

"Yeah?" said Ariliea snarkily.

"Ariliea! Talk respectfully to me!"

"Mom, why do I have to marry the person you say???"

"Ariliea! We have been through this before. Because you are of noble blood, you cannot marry just anyone you want."

"That's a stupid rule! Who made it up!?"

"Dear child, are you going to question the High Priest of the City?"

Ariliea wondered, why not??? She felt brave and clever as she replied calmly, "Never call me dear child again, Mother. I am going to use my Magick whenever I want to now. And yes I will question him if I want to. You don't care that I have nightmares every night about being persecuted for using Magik."

Her mother looked "horrified" the way she did when Ariliea did something "unladylike". "I told you to stop for your own good!"

"That's what you say!" screamed Ariliea. "That's what everyone says! But I know better! You're not even my mother, are you?"

Her mother looked shocked. Ariliea saw the guilt on her face. "But Ariliea..."

"I'm part Elffe! My real mother was an Elffe, wasn't she?!"

"I... um..."

Ariliea felt her eyes blazing with fury. Filled with anger, she let lightning shoot out of her fingertips and suddenly the whole house lay in ashes.

With the calm expression of freedom on her face. Ariliea turned away from the ruin and set out to begin her Quest.

Uh, yeah. That... sort of... happened.

It was actually more difficult to write with deliberate mistakes than I expected... XD

Edit: Read on for the sequel, in which Ariliea catches a hot boyfriend with green orbs >>>
