I wake up to hear Adam talking with a nurse. "She should be able to go home tomorrow. We just want to keep her here another day to monitor and make sure she is healing properly. When she gets released she should stay in bed for a couple weeks and she needs to get a lot of rest," the nurse says.

Adam is sitting there paying close attention to everything she says. "Yes ma'am. I will make sure she's ok." He says before she walks out of the room.

"Your awake," he says before he takes my hand and brings it to his lips, giving it a gentle kiss.

"Yea," I say, and it comes out raspy. I start to lightly cough from not using my voice. "Here," he says handing my some water.

I take big gulps as I feel the water cool my throat as it goes down. "Thanks," it comes out clearer. "Your welcome. How are you? Do you feel ok?" He asks as he looks in my eyes so he knows if I lie or not.

"My stomach hurts a little but other then that I'm feel ok," I say as I sit up slightly. "Careful," he says, helping to guide me up into a sitting position.

"Thank you so much Adam, I don't know how I would do all this without you," I say, feeling his eyes on my face. "You don't have to thank me sweetheart, I would do anything to help you," he says, making my heart flutter.

"Adam," I say, looking at him. "Hmm," he hums as he rubs his hand up and down my arm. "Never mind," I say.

"No what was it?" He asks as his hand stops on my arm, grabbing my hand. "It's silly," I say as I laugh lightly so I don't hurt my stomach.

"Well now I want to know," he says as he looks at me. "I need to pee," I whisper, "and I can't really get up by myself," I say as I feel my cheeks flush with embarrassment.

I hear him get up from his chair and walk over to the other side of the bed. I feel his arms on my sides, before he stops. "You know I can't do this by myself," he chuckles before I look up into his eyes. "Well I mean, you could but I'd rather you not to," I say as I turn slowly to put my feet over the bed.

He slowly helps me onto my feet as I put my hands on his chest, trying to keep myself from falling. "See, that wasn't so hard was it?" He teases.

I hit his chest playfully before I put my hands on his arms as we walk toward the bathroom. "I'll be out here if you need me," he says as he opens the door and helps me in before closing the door.

I look up into the mirror as I grip the counter. I see dark bruises under the bandage on my head.

I look away, feeling stupid for letting this happen. I use the bathroom and grip the counter to get up. I knock on the door to let him know I'm done.

He opens the door and guides me back to the bed.

"Thanks," I say, feeling useless. "Hey, don't beat yourself up. A lot of people can't pee on their own," he laughs. "Ok that's not my fault," I say before I start laughing with him.

"Owww stop it hurts," I whine as I feel the stitches pull as I laugh. He immediately stops and sits on the bed next to me.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you," he says as he hugs me. "Your such a baby," I say as I pinch his arm.

"Whatever," he pouts before he gets up and goes to the door. "Where are you going?" I ask as he opens the door.

"I'm going to get us some food. I'll be right back," he says before closing the door.
