Im sitting on the bench in the locker room as Adam carefully unwraps my hand. When he takes it off all the way, I spread my fingers and feel my knuckles burn.

"Damn it," I say as I give him back my hand. "It's gonna be ok love," he says as he cleans my hand.

He bandages my hand and puts some tape on my pinky and ring finger. He lifts my knuckles to his lips and gives it a gentle kiss.

"I'm sorry for being so bitchy," I sigh as I lean on his shoulder. "It's ok sweetheart, I know what your feeling is hard," he says as he kisses my head.

"Wanna go get dinner?" He asks as he looks at me. "Yea I'm starving," I say as I stand up and catch him in an embrace. "Thank you," I say as I walk with him out of the gym.

"So where do you want to go," he asks as he puts his arm around my shoulder. "Can you cook?" I ask as I look at him. "I make the best food you will ever taste," he laughs as he opens my door.

As we drive down the road, I begin to wonder if this can all be for the best. "What are you thinking about over there love," Adam says as he takes my hand in his, laying our hands on his lap.

"How bad your foods going to be," I giggle as I feel my phone vibrate. "Hello," I ask as I answer. "I know where you are," the person says and hangs up.

I drop the phone, shocked by the voice behind my screen. "Who was that?" Adam asks as he turns on our street. "Oh, uh it was just my mom checking in," I say as I take a deep breathe.

"You sure," he asks, raising his eyebrows. "Positive ," I say as I kiss his cheek, walking out of the car.
