A nurse comes in and puts another bed in the room for me. Adams still laying in my arms as he sleeps.
"How's the pain?" She whispers as she walks toward me. "It's bad," I say as a tear rolls down my cheek.
My arms are around Adams head as he lays on my chest. She puts an iv in my arm and I feel the medicine run through my veins. "Thank you," I say as I readjust my position so I'm more comfortable.
Adam starts to stir in my arms as I lay back.He lifts his head as I hold his head in my hands. I give him a small smile as I put my lips to his. "I'm sorry," he says as he sits up. "Your fine, Adam," I say as I stay laid on the bed.
He picks me up so he can lay behind me. "Careful," I say as I feel pain go through my arms. "Sorry," he says as he slows his pace.
I let out a breathe as I situate myself on his chest. "How are you," he asks as he puts his head on my shoulder. "Not ok," I say as I close my eyes.
"You should take it easy for a while," he says as he runs his hands up and down my arms. I chuckle. "I mean it love. We're doing it my way this time. I'm not risking you another hospital visit," he says as he kisses my head.
"You know, you're adorable when you're controlling," I giggle as I raise my head back to look at him. He laughs as he kisses my forehead.
"Get some rest sweetheart, you need it," he says as I turn onto my stomach to lay on him. "Ok," I say as I close my eyes. "I love you Avery." "I love you too."
