I'm back in the closet, everything is happening all over again. How did he get here? I haven't seen him in years.
But instead of it being James, it's Adam.
"What are you doing?" I ask him as he pulls me out of the closet. "Giving you what you deserve," he says as he kicks me.
I'm screaming as loud as I can, hoping someone will hear me. I'm pulled out of my dream by the bang of the door opening.
Adam runs to me, scooping me in his arms. "Get off of me!" I yell, thrashing in his arms.
I'm scared. Scared of him hurting me.
"Shh, sweetheart. It's ok," he says as he holds me. "No, please don't hurt me," I say as I start to cry. "Please," I whimper as I stop fighting him.
"I would never hurt you love," he says as he lays me back down.
I feel something around my stomach as I lay down. I pull me shirt up and see a bandage wrapped around. "It's the only thing I could think of," Adam says as tears start to fall down his cheeks.
I pull him toward me, feeling his tears land on my shirt. "It's fine. I'm ok," I say as I hold him. "I was so scared. I didn't know what to do," he says as he hugs me.
"You did fine. I'm sorry you have to see me like this," I say as I pull away from him, laying on the bed.
"Who was that yesterday? Why did you let him leave?" He asks as he puts a hand on my arm. "I don't want to talk about it," I mutter as I close my eyes.
"I'm tired," I say as I get comfortable. I'm really not, I just want to be left alone. "Ok sweetheart," he says as he walks back downstairs. I turn around and look at the wall.
What am I going to do? I can never escape my past.
I get up and make my way downstairs. I walk slowly down the stairs, feeling an ache in my stomach.
I make it to the kitchen and walk towards the cabinet to get a glass. As I'm reaching up, I feel my stomach tighten, causing me to drop the glass I had in my hand.
I hear the glass shatter as it falls to the ground. I fall to the ground, seeing a flashback of when my father was in Adams car.
"Sir, I'm going to need you to step out of the vehicle, your daughter needs medical attention." I hear an officer yell as my body spasms. My father makes a move to hit me again when I hear gun shots break the glass.
"Avery, sweetheart your alright," I hear Adam coo me into reality.
I feel glass piercing my skin as I sit on the ground. Adams a few feet away from me, keeping his distance so I don't get scared.
"You're alright love, just don't move," he says as he walks toward me slowly. I tense, making the glass crunch under my weight.
"Sweetheart you're alright," Adam says as he stops. I take deep breathes, trying to understand what's happening.
I hear Adam in front of me before seeing him, causing me to jump, making a large piece of glass go through my hand.
I let out a blood curling scream as I feel my hand ooze blood onto the floor.
"Fuck, Avery," Adam says frantically as he lifts me off of the floor and carrying me to the bathroom. "Shit, shit, shit," I hear Adam repeat as blood seeps from my hand, dropping onto the floor.
As he skips steps, trying to get to the bathroom, I feel my hand start to go numb. I feel Adam place me on the floor of the bathroom as he searches the bathroom for something.
"I'm going to need you to stay still for me love. This is going to hurt like a bitch but it won't last long," Adam says as he wraps a cloth around the glass in my hand.
He carefully puts his hand on the glass and pulls. I scream and sob as my blood drains out of my hand. I'm breathing heavy as Adam continues to work on my hand.
"Your alright sweetheart," he says as he wraps my hand tightly, trying to stop the bleeding. I'm still sobbing as a feel the glass dig into my legs.
"I'm so sorry love," Adam says as he carefully lifts me and sets me on the bed. "I'm going to need you to lay on your stomach so I can get the glass out of your legs sweetheart," Adam says as I remain frozen.
He gently flips me over and lays his hand on my back before getting up to get stuff to take the glass out of my leg.
I feel the bed dip as I lay there, feeling the glass burning my skin. I reach my hand out frantically looking for his.
"Im here love," he says as he takes my hand. I fell his hand on my leg as he pulls the glass out. I wince with every piece.
After he's done, I feel him lay a warm cloth on my leg, to ease the burning. Tears silently run down my cheeks as I lay motionless on his bed.
"I'm sorry," I say. "You don't need to say sorry love," he says as he rubs my leg. "But I'm always making shit worse," I say as I go to stand up.
"Woah, where do you think your going," he says as he stops me. "I'm going home," I simply say as I limp out of the door.
"Your just going to leave?" He says as he follows me. "Yes, I'm not staying here to bother you anymore," I say as I open the door. Adam slams it shut with his hand, his breath hot on my neck .
"I'm not letting you just leave," he says in a whisper. "Why not," I say as I close my eyes, feeling his nose on my neck. "Because I care for you," he whispers as his nose trails up my neck, behind my ear.
I feel a shiver in my spine as his mouth connects to my neck. I inhale sharply and turn around, connecting my lips to his. His hands are on my ass, lifting me up. I wrap my legs around him, ignoring the pain I feel in my body. All I feel is lust. I want him. I love, him.
