Divorce

Mary: Alright, we need to discuss Mama and Papa's ridiculous idea that they want a divorce.

Robert: Your mother wants a divorce, not me.

Edith: The end result's the same.

Mary: 😒 Why is she here?

Tom: Be nice. 😡

Cora: I don't understand why you're getting involved. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Elizabeth: You've been married for years. After all you've been through, we think you can work it out.

Mary: And I don't need a scandal.

Elizabeth: Thank you Mary, for proving the fact that you're heartless.

Mary: 🙄

Robert: Why are you here? Haven't you disowned the family?

Elizabeth: Not exactly, I've just disowned you.

Robert: 🙄

Tom: Can't you two work out your problems without a divorce?

Cora: Robert has put us through so much.

Elizabeth: You probably don't want to hear this, but the affair was nearly 16 years ago. Why let it destroy you now?

Cora: Because all the repercussions are happening now.

Edith: Papa was disloyal to you, yes, but 16 years ago, and he's been loyal ever since.

Mary: Since when have you become so wise?

Edith: Always, you've just hated me so much that you've refused to see that I'm better than you.

Tom and Elizabeth: Be nice.

Cora: He hasn't been loyal ever since.

Robert: Of course I have!

Cora: The queen forwarded me some texts from the other day. You told it would've been simpler if you had stayed together.

Edith, Mary, Elizabeth, Tom: What?! 😱

Robert: If you read the whole thing, I said that she's simply somebody who I used to know.

Edith: But if the queen wanted to get back together, you would've.

Tom: I thought you didn't want them to get a divorce.

Edith: Sorry.

Cora: My decision is final.

Cora has left the conversation

Mary: Well, I certainly hope you're pleased with yourself.

Elizabeth: I just don't understand it. Why, every time you sense danger in your marriage, you run to her Majesty?

Robert: That night, was one of the best nights of my life.

Elizabeth: Okay, TMI. 🤢

Robert: Sorry.

Elizabeth: Maybe, if you cut off all ties with her, you might be able to save this marriage.

Robert: But if we divorce, then maybe the queen and I...

Elizabeth: No! You won't be a couple if you and Mama split!

Robert: Maybe.

Elizabeth: You disgust me. My mother is happy. She's married to the king, has two children, and is the Queen of England. She wants nothing to do with you, and quite frankly, neither do I.

Robert: Darrel...

Elizabeth: Let me make this clear so that you can finally get the message into your thick head: Leave us alone.
